Dark Atlas from the Dark Age
« on: 06 March 2011, 20:28:03 »
I don't paint minis often, but every now and then I like to mess around. Coming into a spare Dark Age Atlas gave me a chance to have a little fun with a colour shceme that was inspired by, of all things, the skull kneecap. Bojus points if you can figure out the "how and why" of the scheme.

Sir, I salute your ability to polish turds. 8)

Seriously, the paint job looks great, although your weapons ports could stand some detail - blacks in the cannon barrels, tips on the missiles or whatever those dozen zits on the torso are. But the chrome detailing contrasts well with the black and green.

Man the DA Atlas was ugly, but you did a good job making it look a little better, barely.

well, it looks a thousand times better than that horrible Darth Vader wanna be Atlas II.  At least this thing looks scary.  Personally, I think this should have been the Atlas II that Devin Stone drove.  At least the body lends itself better to the Skeleton paint job that was forced on that awful Atlas II.

Good job.  I would do some highlights with some lighter colors everywhere to bring this thing to life.  I like the color choices.  However she looks a little flat.  Either way I would be proud to drop this on the gaming table.

Lets see that paint on a REAL Atlas, or even a FAtlas
Well I was thinking of starting over. I didn't mean this.
