More exposure for Alpha Strike (computer game)
« on: 15 March 2016, 11:09:32 »
I'm interested in getting more people to try out alpha strike.  More stompy robots is always better right?  ^-^

I believe megamek has done good things for Battletech as a whole.  Since alpha strike's attraction is faster play I started designing a new computer game based on the alpha strike rule set, (think Megameks little brother). My main goal is streamlined gameplay with a focus on big battle action company+, mixed units, aerospace, dropships, artillery, planetary assaults (you get the idea)

Now currently I have the majority of alpha strikes rules programmed into classes/objects.  The next step is to tie them to visuals and a great modern interface (the hard part).

I posted some low quality phone videos of some early programming efforts in the computer section of this forum.  I plan on getting a better method of video capture.

Anyway,  check it out if you are interested and helpful feedback is always welcome.

I have a full time job at a power plant (10 hour shifts and a 2 HR commute so my time is unfortunately limited (also have two little boys ages 4 and 3).  Nonetheless,  I've managed to get this far in a couple months.

Enjoy fellow mechwarriors.
