Overview
The first two ships of this class launched in 3102 joining the already
impressive fleet.  The Federated Suns cried foul after seeing the WarShip
finding that the class was very similar to a New Syrtis-class Battle-cruiser
variant they had planned based on a design by Commodore Matthew Davion.
However these claims fell on deaf ears as the vessel used technology
available only to the Star League Defence Force.

Capabilities
The Caliburn matches the New Syrtis for size however the design is faster,
better armoured and better armed than the old Carrier.  The design has two
aerospace fighter bays like the New Syrtis but both bays on the Caliburn are
a fraction of the size of these found on the old carrier design.

The ship is armed with a variety of class-25 Naval Autocannons, class-55
Naval Lasers, AR-10s, Long Range Missile Launchers and Extended Range Large
Lasers.  Defensively the Caliburn dispenses with conventional Anti-Missile
systems mounting a new WarShip Anti-Missile System to deal with incoming
conventional and capital missile threats.

Finally the Caliburn follows recent trends in WarShip design mounting a
Naval C3 System and a Lithium Fusion Battery Mk II adding to the design's
flexability.  The design carries eighteen aerospace fighters, six small
craft and four DropShips for auxiliary craft.  49,736.5 tons of cargo space
remains to support the WarShip's operations.

Deployment
The first two Caliburn-class Battle-cruisers, the SLS Excalibur and
SLS Caliburn, have joined the SLDF's fleet.  The Federated Suns have lodged
an official complaint with the Star League Council over espionage but so far
this claim has not gained much traction within Star League circles.

My three main Alternate Timeline with Thanks fan-fiction threads are in the links below. I'm always open to suggestions or additions to be incorporated so if you feel you wish to add something feel free. There's non-canon units, equipment, people, events, erm... Solar Systems spread throughout so please enjoy

Very nice upgrade there DC, I never had any luck with adding any custom systems to my copy of Aerotech so it's very nice to see the Caliburn with more modern gear.

No, the LF2 and WarShip AMS is far far beyond the Rim Collection

well I've added custom tech by hand to designs no programs to try and mod.  I'm glad you liked the redesign I tried to keep the heart of the design as it was
