Yokel: "C" Tech Tank
« on: 24 April 2017, 19:44:50 »
Designed using only the most hopelessly obsolete technology, the Yokel nevertheless bring semi-respectable combat capability to even the most backward militia.  A heavy rifle cannon provides real firepower, while its top speed of 53 kph is almost mediocre.  Two and half tons of BAR 5 armor provide meager protection.  The Yokel's chief virtue is that it can be produced locally on most worlds without much specialized military industry.  It is not a licensed design, but rather an archetype.  I'm using a spreadsheet by Josh "Maverick" Helton, and any mistakes are probably due to my failure to use it correctly.

I believe its 5 crew required.

2 for being a medium support vehicle and [weapon tonnage / 3, rounded up]. 8/3=2.66 repeating. So 2+3.

It would be 5 crew, but, as a medium support vehicle, the seating comes free.  Don't need to spend tonnage on it.

So, you could up your range to 1250km (1.5t fuel), or you could drop the range slightly (833km) and up your armor (either BAR 6 for 3t, or keep it at BAR 5 for 74pts, which is maximum for tank mass, for 3t).

Or, if you want to keep the "seating" for flavor (maybe call it a beer cooler for the crew  ;D ), you might want to drop the range (833km) for an even 0.5t "crew space" (thereby eliminating fractional accounting).
