(Answered) Equipment not in new books
« on: 19 August 2020, 02:04:11 »
My question is based on the answer to AC incendiary ammo here.
https://bg.battletech.com/forums/index.php?topic=70325.0  The ruling is that AC Incendiary Ammo isn't in a currant rule book it currently isn't legal.

Does that mean that all equipment and ammo that isn't included in a currant rule book is also currently illegal? If yes, wouldn't that invalidate all the designs that use such items? Designs like the Super Griffin who's Prototype Improved Jump Jets aren't in a currant rule book.

If designs are not invalidated, is there a list of what items are currently legal and which are not?

Thanks

There is a difference in a rulebook replacing an older rulebook and replacing/dropping equipment and a sourcebook that is just older.  One has been replaced, the other hasn't.  Tactical Handbook, BattleTech Master Rules, BattleTech Compendium (and all other main BattleTech core rulebooks) and MaxTech have been replacing with the current core rulebooks.

Experimental Technical Readout: Succession Wars has not been replaced, nor have any new rules been made regarding prototype improved jump jets from the Super Griffin.

Basically, There is a difference between a piece of equipment that has been removed, and equipment not in the core books.

So if the equipment was in a rule book that was replaced then it is no longer legal but if the equipment was in a sourcebook it's still legal just not included?

That leaves a lot of equipment illegal.  :'( Oh well. House Rules!  >:D

Thanks
