31xx marauder BA? Gauntlet?

Okay, so a couple of 31xx questions, as I have one lance and I'm planning on getting two more (one each for kuritans, davions, and stoners).
Would any of these factions have access to the marauder battle armour/power armour?
Because I was reading through the 3145 tro, and I noticed this rather amusing looking armour, and I sort of want it in my 31xx mixed forces (as in the books, in 31xx many companies seem to be mixed mech/tank/BA forces now in a number of cases, even house forces).

Also - I get that the gauntlet isn't *sold* outside of Lyran space. But what about salvage? Are there mercs in 31xx that might, say, salvage a gauntlet? Or could a few houses have gotten some "lucky" salvage at some point? Or maybe the Seafoxes? Etc (really I just want absolutely any excuse to paint a gauntlet or two up in non-lyran colours).

The Marauder Battle Armour is sold on the mercenary market. So I suppose a house unit could have salvaged/acquired some through there.  However, none of the great house forces use it in significant numbers

The question I respond with to people asking these sorts of things is: does canon matter for these forces?

If yes, then the Gauntlet won't work much outside the Lyrans. If no, paint it up however you feel. No one is going to hunt you down for either choice.

The one faction I can legitimately see managing some salvage or other acquisition is the Wolves. Their turn back from the FWL netted them a good chunk of the Lyran state, and IIRC, at least two Galaxies include rules allowing a player to roll on Lyran RATs for some of their force.

Well I'm trying to find a canonically acceptable means for someone outside of the Lyrans to have one.
So Wolves salvage is cool - would anyone else have salvaged them? (not just big factions, but little folks who maybe worked for big factions, or whatever).
Theft?
Lyran Nobles doing backroom deals, or ignoring the rules?
Spies?
Mercs salvage/trade? etc


On the plus side at least I can consider deploying the Marauder BA with any of my 31xx forces if I paint them generically?

Related question - does one IWM Marauder BA mini represent a unit of 4 BA for the purposes of CBT? Or is it literally 1:1 representation? I'm looking for the best way to present a "lance" equivalent unit of cool BA designs that most anyone would have.

Remember, Battletech has no rules regarding what faction gets what, it only has guidelines that you are free to ignore as you wish. Between trade, salvage, and theft, it's feasible for almost any given faction to field at least one of almost any given mech/tank/BA. If you really want to stick to hard canon, the Marauder BA is sold to mercs, where it can then spread everywhere. I'd see nothing wrong with a squad or two in the service of any given House.

There are NEVER any paint requirements. Paint em however you want, or don't paint them at all, it's your call.

Number of suits on a base is also 100% your call. The Marauder is a fairly large mini as far as BA go so my advice would be to use one fig per base to represent a squad, but if you want to put four or more on a base, it's your choice, and nobody can tell you you're wrong.

There's also the possibility that states will purchase suits from the Hegemony for evaluation purposes. Getting the suits into the hands of Defiance Industries, for example, could be very useful to the LCAF. Of course they'd probably use cutouts and third parties, but still.

Theres also the sea foxs, who canonly sell some Ogres to the dominion. So theres obvious work arounds..

The MUL entries are just 'this faction has enough in use to be reasonably common'
Unless it is listed as extinct, you can generally justify anything you want to use
