Armored Gloves, Infantry weapons, and Swarm Attacks

Sorry for the necro, but I just wanted to make sure I understand this correctly after reading this thread:

Conventional Infantry can use their handheld weapons to inflict damage during a swarm attack, but Battle Armor or Power Armor carrying the same guns in armored gloves cannot?

I.E. A conventional platoon armed with Mauser 960's uses them to inflict damage during a swarm, but a squad of Nighthawk power armor, carrying the same gun, in the same way, doesn't?

The Nighthawks, after making a successful swarm attack, would inflict no damage, but still roll for a single location and then roll to see if they inflict a critical hit? (I'm assuming they toss a grenade or something down a hatch, barrel, vent, or joint, or just break something with their armored gloves?)

Thanks

Whomever said violence isn't a solution obviously wasn't using enough.
