This question is focused specifically on not only the Automata from Ghosts of Obeedah, but the other "robotic battle armor" units from the Nebula Calfornia releases such as the Cyberic. Figured I should hit all the birds with one stone since they're all similar in rulesets.
In terms of the RPG rules, what is the "health" of the SRCS equipment running the battle armor?
I understand the rules for the tactical scale game: the 1 dot used for a pilot is the machine, but for the RPG it doesn't seem that simple.
Looking at A Time of War for inspiration of rules, I've come to two outcomes.
1. The amount of Standard Damage it can take just equals to the armor points of said Battle Armor. Once it's stripped, it's dead.
2. Page 201, A Time of War states: If for any reason a unit’s Total Warfare Skill is known but the Attributes or Traits of its pilot(s) are not, presume the unit’s pilot(s) to have a score of 6 in any relevant Attribute and presume said pilot(s) to have no Traits that affect the unit’s combat Skills. Which would mean since the rules on the Automata/Cyberic/etc don't list anything on Attributes, we can extrapolate they'd have a BOD of 6, meaning as the armor takes hits, the SRCS operating it has effectively a "health" of 12 points (BOD x 2 for Standard Damage limit in ATOW).
I don't know which of these is closest to what CGL intends.
