sarna.net mentions that there is a common varient of the Overlord DropShip that replaces a dozen BattleMech slots with a dozen vehicle slots. This would also leave plenty of extra room for more infantry and cargo.

Is there an official record sheet or TRO of the Overlord-Two? If so, where? I'd love a DropShip that could carry two BattleMech companies, a vehicle company, an infantry company, a wing of ASFs, and a decent amount of cargo. That, to me, is a great blend of different elements.

As far i know there aren't any printed stated variants of Overlord-Two, Overlord-Command, or Hanse Davion's custom flagship.

I did have the old AT2R Record Sheet book, but i don't have it handy at moment so i can say if missing variants are in that book.

Obsolete, Upgraded, and A-3 are the Overlord variants in the Record Sheet book.

What he said. I'm hoping some future product will give us more sheets like these, the Union-CV, and Leopard-LST. They'd be fun.

You could fill a small book like an XTRO with just variants for the Leopard, Union, and Overlord, I would assume a fair number of Mule and Buccaneer Mods, Some Triumphs, Intruder, and Seeker Mods would fill out the book. I have also been interested, in what the clans do with that extra 2000 Tons of Cargo in the Overlord C's, I would assume the HH's and GB's would have Vehicle and Elemental Heavy Variants.

It would be cool if there was good product to put them in.  Buccaneer was originally compteting with the Union for the SLDF contract, so technically there could be prototype 'Mech Carrier version.  My GM once ran merc game using one as lost prototype.

I know Aerospace is not the most popular, but really, I wold like some effort made to "fill in the blanks" there. We have a handful or two of dropship types (cargo, infantry, vehicular, mixed, mech, fighter, assault, PWS, some others maybe), but we know some realms only produce a few of these, but they all seem to need them.

Variants of accepted craft would solve this, though new craft would just as acceptable to me. I would like to see some stuff from the succession wars era for other carriers, assault ships, and lighter mixed transports (Say something to carry a lance, a platoon of infantry, and a lance or two of light vehicles maybe), including civilian tramp freighter droppers, common merc droppers, and maybe even a few specialist droppers like an interceptor carrier/assault ship, decent firepower, excellent speed, but no real staying power, as it were.

Even on the ground, Dropships like the Overlord variants would be useful.   I'm not sure if a Dropship's communication gear is strong enough provide HQ Vehicle like modifiers.   Even if Aerospace isn't as popular or played as often as our beloved ground pounding 'Mechs, it be nice still get these ships in record sheet form.

Be careful what you read on Sarna.

I say this because no where has it been said "dozen".
One source uses "company" which yes, we think of as Dozen but it doesn't mean that for sure.
It also doesn't state if its Heavy or Light Vees.
HMAero comes some different configurations IIRC but none of them are from canon RS's.
I've seen 12 Heavy Vees w/ extra cargo,  I've also seen 12 Heavy & 12 Light and no extra cargo.
There is also the Dictator-Command which specifically gives us a similar variant for that Dropship and uses 18 Heavy Vee bays and has no extra cargo.
Point being, we don't know for sure exactly what the Overlord looks like, for that matter, I've never seen the term "Overlord-2" in canon.  That is something Sarna created IIRC.

Nope,  just some fan based ones.
I'm not sure I've EVER seen any RS for any DS w/ a variant internal configuration.
Actually, I believe the clan versions of the Titan & Confederate have canon variants but that is it.

Agreed it is.  Its also a canon dropship design........see..... CONQUISTADOR for specifics  ;)

I used to really want to see this variant, as well as all the others,  then I realized that in combat it acts the same and the true likelyhood of me ever slapping down an Overlord on the table & deploying my tanks from it mid fight was just not going to happen this decade, or last century for that matter.  So I just use the normal RS.

Check the Overlord entry in TRO:3057.  It mentions there are more than two dozen variants of the Overlord.  An Overlord-One is the most common, and what we might call the 'standard' Overlord, carrying 36 mechs and 6 fighters.  The next paragraph goes on to mention two variants.  One also called 'common' removes the two lower mech bays (of six, so a full company of mechs) for garages for a 'company of tanks'.  No name is given, but Overlord-Two is a logical progression if this is a common variant and going with the cannon naming scheme.  That paragraph also mentions the 'Command-Overlord' that is considered rare and replaces a lance of mechs with expanded C3 capabilities.

I have and know it well, please read the full fluff & the fluff that started it from DS&JS.

The Overlord-1 is not the "standard" overlord of 36BM+6ASF.
The Overlord, much like the Union had a flawed electrical & hydraulic system in the mech bays.
The repairs to this system has lead to the interior of the Overlord being arranged in many different patterns.

The "One" is the version that took out all the levels and just leaves one giant cavernous bay w/ the mechs ringing the walls in decks of 6.
(As opposed to 3 self contained bays of 12 each or one large bay of 24 & a smaller bay of 12,  similar to how the Union had a Large bay of 8 and a smaller bay of 4, etc etc etc)
The "One" refers to the single large cavernous bay, it doesn't refer to the model of ship, as in "1 Mech Battalion" v/s,  Mixed Battalion or Fighter CArrier, or Cargo Ship, etc etc.

The "One" giant bay is the most common "fix" for the hydraulic/electrical issues.
Likely because that way it tore out the flooring & walls to simplify the rewiring/piping.

Ugh, I forgot about facts of old Variant "One".   I wonder if that configuration is limited in use to space....structural Intergity would be make that thing be bit more vulerable entering gravity.   It would be interesting to see how they actually would string up and pull down all those 'Mechs in there....
