The Outrider Hobbies BattleTech carrying bags.  Several colors are on display.   6 bags definitely showing.  Two in olive green (maybe), two desert camo, one darker green/brown (?) camo, one black.   black and Green bags are very visible BattleTech written in yellow, maybe a red battlemaster after the text.  The black one in front has some large red logo in the middle of the bag?

Some one seriously bought all the BT dice on the first day?  If true, that sucks, as I actually had some one headed there to get me a set of FedSuns at the least.....

I had two different people going to try to get me full sets so I had a chance to get at least one full set.  This hacks me off to NO end since one of those guys had an open thursday morning slot before going to run battletech stuff and still failed to get me my dice.  :'( :'(

Haven't they always sold pretty well? If so, I'm surprised that booth staff didn't put a limit on how many any one person could buy at a single time.

IF it happened. There's lots of contradictory stories out there.
* No, FASA wasn't big on errata - ColBosch
* The Housebook series is from the 80's and is the foundation of Btech, the 80's heart wrapped in heavy metal that beats to this day - Sigma
* To sum it up: FASAnomics: By Cthulhu, for Cthulhu - Moonsword
* Because Battletech is a conspiracy by Habsburg & Bourbon pretenders - MadCapellan
* The Hellbringer is cool, either way. It's not cool because it's bad, it's cool because it's bad with balls - Nightsky
* It was a glorious time for people who felt that we didn't have enough Marauder variants - HABeas2, re "Empires Aflame"

Yeah, I should I have been more clear on that. My post was meant to express surprise, as I haven't seen CGL make a con foul like that in the past.

I had irc corraboration from someone early this morning but my buffer cleared on me.  I'm waiting for the person to get back to his hotel and get back on before asking him to post here.

I can say a forum member here posted on another forum he got 18 of the dice. DOesn't sound like "one guy monstered five hundred". The dice sold very well at Origins, which may contribute to the problems.

So unless someone wants to step forward and say "I'm the mad dice buyer, muhahahaha!", let's keep the rumors to a dull rumbling. No well-organised spontaneous angry mob with flaming pitchforks need apply ;)

There were six full sets left from Origins.  500 dice could not have been purchased as there were less than eighty leftover.  Eighty at the first booth you passed at GenCon.  Eighty dice when people were actively being encouraged to buy twenty each to get the Cameron die.  For anyone trying to get two Cameron dice, that's two purchases.  Even at one Cameron die apiece that's only four purchases.

I talked to Herb about that, next time we get dice, we'll limit it to one die per person to prevent this from happening again.

Muggings on the con floor increase by 5000% after one die policy implemented.  Die prices on ebay rise to $200 each. Herb grows sinister mustache to twirl maniacally.

That was actually a discussion point on another subject. Herb won't be growing a handlebar mustache, but might be going for some muttonchops.

ok.  if the numbers were that low then the situation while frustrating was not as <grumblesnarfboom> as they could have been.  I pray that they put them on battleshop in the future then.
