Engine is still running.  If it had AMS and ECM, that would still be running.  Potentially C3 slave, as well.  If you get really nasty and have the TacOps ammo explosion rules on and allow friendly fire, it can make a decent point-and-click command detonated mine.

I hadn't seen a vehicle still going with no crew. Is that option if crew is dead, the unit eliminated?

There's a 'Crew Killed' critical hit for vehicles, which is similar in effect to a Mech getting a cockpit critical without destroying the head.  The unit is still present and functional, but is unpiloted.  Mechs have some optional rules like skin-of-the-teeth ejection which removes the unit from play which are commonly used, but there isn't anything similar for vehicles.

seems a fairly standard ending for an Orion; they either survive with no ammo and everything with 1 internal structure; or they go boom very early.

Edit: At least it managed to stay in the air after taking 67 damage this turn. Unlike my Thunderbird, that failed a control roll for heat against, again, 5.

Missed this thread yesterday but was playing with the rapid-fire autocannon unkind version, rapid-fired a Soarece's AC2 on the first turn because I am dumb, and Crit my own ammo when the thing exploded.
