Gashapon Marauder
« on: 03 March 2011, 21:09:22 »
Got in a near-mountain of N-scale stuff recently and that lovely Crusader thread got me working on starting to dig through it. This particular Marauder had me very excited as it seemed far improved from my old 80's kits in terms of detail and posability.

Needed a couple of parts to bring it back up to snuff but I'm always pleased to get some good scale unseens for my forces.

Nothing really special done to it which is why I'm so pleased that it looks great for the table. Just need to finish a proper base for it.

For anyone interested. The Marauder is from the 3rd Mission Macross Gashapon set.

The 1st Mission comes with a dead sexy Warhammer as well.

The strike battroid configurations are perfect for royal and regular Phawks. Not to mention the Phawk LAM's and LAM's in fighter mode. The VF-1A's are a bit too big for Stingers. But I may just pull the old Battledroid Stinger excuse.

Good stuff and currently cheaper than metal if you can find it.

Cheaper?  I'm outbid so often on those Gashapon sets that I stopped trying, on a certain auction site.

I hardly ever even see them for auction. I just grab it from the BIN hongkong folks. Why pay $15 for a single when you can pay $26 shipped for the whole set of 8? }:)

Yeah I know, not as good as the days of $15 shipped for the set but still extremely reasonable.

Though I must admit, I'm guilty of cleaning out most of the cheap ones that have been on there the last couple of weeks.

I demand pics!  [drool]

Will try to get some pics up once I finish fiddling with it. They aren't half as impressive unless you bring out the details. I'm thinking Black Widow company.

Seeing how that's on a clicky base, I'm guessing it's N-scale?

The ever sexy Marauder.  I like how it is providing security for its resting friend the Shadow Hawk.

DROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL!!!  [rockon]

You know what I just realized?!?!?!? The gun pods on the Marauder? In the new Marauder variants all they did was turn them around so the curved edge houses the 4 large lasers on some variants... CHEATERS!!!!

That Marauder is dead sexy. In particular, the black lining on the white paint is very well done.  :)
