« on: 14 January 2014, 11:23:18 »

Take sides on the Periphery planet, Randis IV, and assist the Lyran Commonwealth or the Capellan Confederation in their struggle for dominance, by claiming bases, destroying generators and relays, and defeating all enemies who try to defend them. Head to the front lines in one of over 400 units including: Battlemechs, Tanks, Battlesuits and VTOL to lay waste to all that stand in your path.

A text-based, real-time simulation of the popular Battletech board game by FASA, using frequently changed, top down graphical maps in a 'Heads-Up' combat display for a classic tabletop feel.

Has been around for quite some time.  It's fun, though it can be challenging, because it's not turn-based BT; it's real-time, and one of the things you have to deal with there that you don't here is the timing and speed of your turns and weapons fire, because you try to catch people as they're having to slow to navigate obstacles (or as they land from a jump, when their speed is 0) and you have to deal with weapon recycle times.

How do you make a new character if you don't like the first one given to u or if he dies?

How do you aim weapons in a top down view?

You might not live more than once, better make it good.

"How do you make a new character if you don't like the first one given to u or if he dies?"

This is a great question. you can change the name of your character and re-train your skills any time you want so your first character is really the only one you ever need. if your mech get destroyed on the battlefield it goes down for repairs for a time and your pilot...your character..gets put back into hq ready to go again in different mech.

"How do you aim weapons in a top down view?"

this is a btmux, not a first person shooter. you can look at the map in realtime and adjust your speed and heading, lock and fire on targets. load special ammo's. change sensors, and so forth. it's very much like being in the mech driving it..and having a sattelite map for navigation. it's actually quite a good combat system and very immersive. give it a try.
