Tried to make it thru Oz The Great and Prowerful. Fell asleep. Not in any big hurry to watch the rest.

For the past 5 weeks or so, i have been checking dvds out from our local library, hitting some of the 'earlier work' in our top 20 male actor spot.  Just watched angles in the outfield, which surprisingly had Mathew Mcconahay (which i never knew), and also watched his "fools gold".  I loved both.

I know I'm way behind the times with this, but I finally watched the "new" Total Recall movies last night.

It was... okay I suppose.  Good effects and some cool action scenes, althought I'm not sure there was anything original it brought to the table to justify a remake of the old Arnold version.  I thought the "Colony" looked look just like the old Bladerunner movie, and the white armored Federal forces were awfully reminicient of Storm/Clone Troopers from another popular movie.   ::)

Courtesy of Netflix CD delivery, I'm starting on Season 1 of Babylon 5. I was stationed overseas when it originally aired, and got to see an episode or two while home on leave. I'm looking forward to the journey, although I wish they had the series available for streaming.

I did that last year. Lots of fun. Never realized how much Mass Effect ripped off B5 till then. I had just finished replaying Mass Effect when I rewatched B5. Never put the two together.

I envy you on your journey. It's a great show and seeing the whole way through the first time is great.

Gotta make sure you catch the movies too. Thirdspace and A Call to Arms are awesome.

I just watched Heavenly Sword on Netflix.  It's a CGI movie based on the video game of the same name, but it's actually pretty watchable.  Not a great movie, but entertaining enough.

Watched Prometheus yesterday on FX.

It was an OK movie, but it didn't really mesh with the other Alien movies.

I have always had a liking for that movie.  Was my first intro to Jolie.

Has Lillard ever not been a goofball in any roll he has played??

I just liked how different Marc Anthony looked in that movie?

I love Penn Jillette sitting there like "I am getting paid for this goofy s**t!"  Oh, and Fisher Stevens eating scenery like he was starving.   Love that movie.

Penn was funny just being there.

One of my favorite movies to day is Short Circut and Fisher Stevens played the Indian robot designer and not at one point did I think that was the bad guy in Hackers.

I had to do a double take when i saw that on his IMDB page..  Man did he do a great job playing the Indian designer.

Trippy stuff.  It falls in that vein of Krull, Beastmaster and other high fantasy films with subversive set design.  I watched it constantly as a kid, mostly because my parents were partying in the other room and had a VHS babysitter.  Still, when he losses his horse it still pulls at my heartstrings.  That, and the rockbiter's speech about losing his friends despite appearances that he was strong enough to protect the,

It was also a West German production.  Take from that what you will.

Rewatched Ben Afleck in Sum of all fears.  Only thing i hated about it was that since ryan was just getting engaged, how was it more in the future than hunt for red october was where he was already married?

Courtesy of Netflix CD delivery, I'm starting on Season 1 of Babylon 5. I was stationed overseas when it originally aired, and got to see an episode or two while home on leave. I'm looking forward to the journey, although I wish they had the series available for streaming.

I picked up the DVD with "In the Beginning" and "The Gathering", and watched both last night.  It's been many years since I watch B5, and now contemplating picking up the seasons on DVD.

How was Casino Royale, which was when Bond just reciebed "00" status, more in the future than Dr No where he was a vetran agent? :-P

Casino Royale is a very good movie, I think better than most, perhaps my fourth or fifth favorite of all the movies.  The basic plot sticks with the original novel, which is a nice change of pace, since there hasn't been a Bond movie that was based off of one of the original novels since the 70's.  I believe the intention for Casino Royale was to make it a bit of a re-boot.  How one chooses to incorporate that with the rest of the series is totally up to the individual.

The best Daniel Craig Bond movie at this point is "Skyfall", if you haven't seen it, I highly recommend it.  I certainly hope that "Spectre" is just as awesome, if not more so, when it is released in just under a year.
