I saw X-Men, really enjoyed it but Civil War beats it out because the chemestry was there between the characters, but it was a good, solid and entertaining movie.

I'm also going to see the Warcraft movie tomorrow, i'll let folks know my thoughts about it tomorrow :)  I know critics have been panning it but the Forbes review was done by them not even seeing it, the Guardian (ultra-liberal) said it was racist because it 'clearly is about the syrian refugee crisis' and I'm not kidding, and the Kotaku review was done by a bloke who hates blizzard :s

At the end of the day the only critic that matters is you.

Just got back from watching X-Men: Apocalypse. I liked it.
I probably would have liked it more if I had seen X-Men: Days of Future Past though.

Got done watching 2 very good sea based flicks.  First up was White Squall with Jeff Bridges.  Very slow but also very good.
Then came Chris pine in "The Finest hour".  Man was that done well.

Just got back from seeing the Warcraft movie.

I'm not really much of a WoW player, i'm not too aware of the universe and went with boyfriend to see it and he's a HUGE Warcraft geek and lover of the lore (I prefer Diablo 3 and Overwatch).

I was a bit hesitant to see it, most game to movie adaptations suuuuuuuuck, but here I was more than pleasantly surprised.

It was a really enjoyable movie, it was for me easily understandable and fine to follow, the CGI is absolutely amazing. It opens with a long shot of the face on Durotan, one of the main protagonists, and he's an Orc.  And he LOOKS real, he looks very organic, he does not look like a CGI character.  And that was also surprising, that you've got an Orc, typically a baddie race as having some good elements, but yeah he looked really real.

The story was simple but my boyfriend was making squee noises so I assume there's references that he was getting. He giggled when he saw these fish things, they were only there for a second and I assume they are from the game.  The world of Azeroth itself looked and again, felt real. It was a living breathing world, not just a bad green and bluescreen (hello Star Wars Episode 1 - 3...)

The human actors were good, there was some rather good chemistry, and some rather funny moments that I did laugh at and yet the film is pretty violent if bloodless.

If there's one thing the CGI Orcs out acted the humans, and the humans were far from bad actors.

The music was also very good but it suffered from (in the cinema I was in at any rate) of being a bit too loud in places and it did drown out some of the speaking.

I liked the use of the magic in the film too, the magic was really dynamic and much more impactful than say LotR or even the Harry Potter series.

My main criticism is that it felt rushed, there's a lot to take in and perhaps it could have done with being 15 - 30 minutes longer, but it does not feel rushed in a bad way.

My boyfriend afterwards was gibbering about it and said that he liked the lore changes and that we both really enjoyed the movie.  Most game to movie adaptations are well...crap, lets be honest, but I think that the Warcraft movie breaks this 'curse' and is a good solid movie that a pleb like me can watch and it also makes fans happy too.

I suggest giving this movie a try, its a genuinely good film :)

"Captain America: Civil War"

Good writing, good acting, good timing (not too drawn out, not too rushed) - just an overall enjoyable film.

I was watching again over the D-Day anniversary its called IKE: Countdown to D-day. It was a A&E movie with Tom Sellek playing Ike. Its not a bad movie, a lot of plotting and not a lot of action, but true to the form of how he got all the people and egos together.

I'm not sure if I've seen all of it, but have definitely seen a goodly chunk of it. Very good movie; Selleck is really good in that role.

Just saw previews for the norwegian movie, Wave..  It looks decent, but i have issues watching foreign films with subtitles..  Often i find myself missing what's ON screen cause i have to read the bottom of it to HEAR whats going on..

More incentive to learn foreign languages. Understanding both English and German was good for watching The Third Man.

I watched Return of the Jedi. I have been rewatching classic Star Wars trilogy. IMO those still hold even after all these decades. Granted that there really is no chance to watch original unaltered versions anymore so it's not pure experience like back in 90's when I saw those for very first time but things that really matter are still same.
Star Captain John Malthus, Kappa Galaxy, Clan Jade Falcon
Star Captain Johannes Bekker, Delta Galaxy, Clan Ghost Bear
Captain John Bailey, 1st Avalon Hussars, Federated Suns
Tai-i Jiro Takahashi, 2nd Legion of Vega, Draconis Combine

Yes they have held up. The first time I saw them, it was taped off the TV. Remember when the commercials were in there.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows.....I liked it well enough.

Jupiter Ascending....Also liked it.

Lucy.....I just ignored the junk science in ScarJos solo superhero movie.

Mr. Baseball is one of my favorite sports movies.

For me if i was to list 2my top 5 movies for each of the main sports

Soccer- Playing for keeps, That's the only one here..

American Football - Replacements, Necessary roughness, All the right moves, Any Given Sunday, Friday night lights,

Basketball - Way too many to narrow it to just 2..  You've got Eddie, Hoosiers, Blue chips, the air up there, celtic pride, Finding forrester (more drama than sports focused), Coach carter

Baseball - Angles in the outfield, Field of dreams

Hockey - Mighty ducks, Miracle,  Mystery Alaska,

It's not who you kill, but how they die!

See, for me, the overall best baseball movie is "Bull Durham." After that, probably "Mr. Baseball" followed by "Major League."

Both very good, but would put "Varsity Blues" and "Remember the Titans" ahead of both.

Obviously, tastes and preferences vary.  8)

I have never gotten in to Bull Durham.  And i left major league off, as it was funny but imo not as good as the other 2..

I'm sorry, I misremembered the name (or I was too lazy to verify), it was not The Last Girl.

It was The Final Girls from 2015 with Nina Dobrev, Malin Akerman and Taissa Farmiga.
