Banshee resculpt - fixing the sunglasses effect
« on: 10 April 2014, 05:55:29 »
I recently acquired one of the resculpt Banshee -3E models and while it's a great sculpt, really a wonderful implementation of the original art, the massive cockpit glass area is a bit of a turn off. I prefer the narrower visor effect of the -5S model (also the -3S artwork).

Now, I'm not a sculptor. I can just about see a way to do this with liquid greenstuff, lots of coats, and a sharp knife at the end, but I can also imagine this will require more skill and control than I think I have at my disposal.

Does anyone see an easy way for a newbie to attempt this, and what pitfalls should I look out for?

You could try a  flat piece of styrene cut to fit over the offending area, then miliput the edges to smooth out the transition.  The styrene will give you an easy flat surface that is even, and raise the new "forehead area" for a kind of brow.

Interesting... I'll have to give that a try.
