remember we are partners now so I will help with the cost of the repairs our commanders can figure out who pays for what over dinner when we get back

and my mash unit is available to all the injured men as well and I will pay them a visit to see how they are doing

let me know about the trucks and there cost as well
I appreciate the offer. O0  I'll look hard at my finances.

What I'm about to suggest is for all of our team.  I'm sure that Shadhawk is going to be wondering why it took us so long to think of this.  Anyhow, we have a one-year contract on this world.  Part of the contract allows us to train infantrymen FOR FREE in all manner of infantry skills.  So, why don't we recruit as many infantry that we can (who are willing to go with us off-world) and simply leave them at summer camp until they come out virtual special-forces?

OK. So when my head clears I'll get you engine price. As engines are not set price items I have to do the math on it. Will also have to figure out what shipping will be.

As for the Karnov you can do the mods you want all you need to do is buy the parts and make the tech rolls. The tech rolls will be higher then if you were just doing a R & R to bring it back to stock.

On the infantry front. Yes you can get troops to do the different classes but they will have to come from off world and be a minimum of regulas skill as they will not teach green troops. You will not find many locals wanting to join your unit as they are very loyal to the planet.

With the inter unit exchange of personal if you want to do this great. It will help the different parts to understand how each of the other works. Swapping pilots and/or vehicle crews can work as they will get skilled on different machines. They would drop a skill level as they would not know the new machine.

OK time for the bad news for the Alacorn engine.
By TechManaul p.279
XL Engine (20,000 x engine rating x unit tonnage) / 75 = 7,220,000 c-bills this is just the engine
shipping is not a set thing so you have 13 tons of engine you need to get just over to jumps. New Earth to no place DC boondocks. so 10% of the unit cost if you want it "Over Night" then 30%. Standard it takes 2 months ... 2 jumps ... "Over Night" it takes 1 month.
and you still will have your install time. Oh and I'm letting you use the old heat sinks ... they would be 2,000 each x 10  ::)
keep in mind that this thing costs over 16,000,000 c-bills.

OH and hope that Bully and his crew don't take it  >:D

The Karnov is not as bad
Internal Structure is 10,000 x tons. must be in 1 ton lots. so 10,000 c-bills
Ferro-Fibrous Armor is 20,000 x tons ... this has to be shipped in. it's only 1 jump out. must be in 1 ton lots. 20,000 to 40,000 c-bills not sure if you lost 1 or 2 tons of armor.
control equipment as the nose was shot off 10,000 x tons ... 1.5 tons per the TRO3058. shipping same as the armor. 15,000 c-bills
shipping cost same as the engine ... 10% std or 30% "over night" ... so low end 4,500 high end 19,500 c-bills this is just to return it to stock.
add 200,000 for the Beagle Probe, 50,000 for the TAG and 20,000 per ton for the extra armor. Shipping as above.

you can wait for the arms dealer to return and order it with him but you have to wait for his return after that to get the items. you will shave the shipping charges.

Bully agrees that it would probably be safer to avoid them hurting themselves installing the Alacorn engine by making sure it doesn't get there (Three MOBILE gauss rifles?  Yeah, no)

Just had to chime in...

Buying a new engine for the Alacorn is out of the question.  I just gave the rules a bit more scrutiny.  The Alacorn suffered an "Engine Hit", which means that it is severly damaged.  They did not say that it is completely destroyed.  I want to try to repair it.
As for the Karnov, forget about the modifications.  I just want to repair it and buy a new one.  What will that cost with normal shipping?

Nothing on the sheet says "Engine destroyed".  There is only "Engine Hit", as per RS3058C p. 221

There is no "Engine destroyed" on the "Ground Vehicle Critical Hits Table".  The armor was not breached.  There was only armor damage on the left side. As far as I can tell, you rolled a 2 or 8 that resulted in a "Side (critical)" on the "Ground Combat Vehicle Hit Location Table".  Then you rolled an 11 or 12 on the "Ground Vehicle Critical Hits Table".  The result is "Engine Hit".
If I'm wrong, can you point me to the page in Total Warfare?

This is going nack a few months now. All I recall was getting the engine twice. The first shut down the vehicle the second would destroy the engins as it only has one box. I aslo recall not finishing all that damage as the vehicle was done. The Dervish was the one lobbing LRM from behind the hill at it. I'm not going to kill over this as it took me so long to get the numbers. Also remember you wanted to try and rebuild the engine so a normal xl mech engine has 12 slots to keep things fair well say 2 hits will be 2 slots the engine is 7,220,000 so divide thay by 12 is 601,667 x 2 is 1,203,333

If getting the engine repaired will require 1,203,333 c-bills and hangar time, I would like to authorize that immediately.

Excellent. O0
In a previous post, I said that I just wanted to repair the damaged Karnov to it's original specs and buy a new one of the same model.  To that order, I would like to add 4 I.S. standard battle armor and recruit 4 new infantrymen and pilots for both Karnovs.  I'll put existing troopers into the new suits and stick the new guys in their old slots.

OK some info for the next Mission

the AO will be Hilo (the city from mission 5)
our local Mercs will get to pick 2 units each from their unit rosters. the units in training and on guard at the power plant are no go for this Op.
No Artillery units ... city and artillery not a good mix  ::)
