Time, folks. All ballots are now cast and the results have been tabulated.

I can't tell you when I am going to have this story ready for posting, but I can say that this has been fun . . . and it has created an extraordinary unit!

But enough of me talking. On to the results.

Congratulations are in order for Drakensis, who has been selected by you good folks as our Regimental Colonel! Which means that he needs an Operations officer to run the Regimental Command Company while Drakensis oversees the entire Regiment--congratulations to Captain Blucher (Vonshroom! It may be an act of hubris on my part, but I am promoting Master Arminas to Regimental Sergeant Major!

Our new 1st Battalion CO is Major Jackson (Irose), with the senior battalion NCO being First Sergeant J.P. Arbiter! The three company CO's are Captains Nakamora (Takiro), Yodama (Shin Yodama), and Decker (Mechrat).

Which means that Irose (Casey Jordan), Highball (Larry "Highball" Leslie), and VhenRa (Alexander Dale) become the 1st Battalion Company NCOs--Gunnery Sergeants one and all!

Special mention goes to DOC_Agren (Warren "Doc" Agren) who missed out on being selected by a mere two votes. Therefore, I promote Doc to Senior Lieutenant.

Our 2nd Battalion CO gained the most votes of any candidate outside of the Regimental Command Company and is awarded the coveted Executive Officer slot. Congratulations to Lieutenant Colonel Marius Murphy (VhenRa) and his senior non-com, First Sergeant Steve Dallas (Ironhead).

Company commanders are Captains Giovanni Blasini (Giovanni Blasini), Sasha Rostov (Tyler Jorgennson), and Stephen "Stumpy" McQueen (Kwic). Company Gunnery Sergeants are Josiah C.E. Wales (Deathknight69), Robert "Hunter" Huntley (Sigil), and Joe "Elvis" Eastwood (Shadow Wraith).

Special mention goes to both Kwic and IronHead, who were tied for the next slot with nine votes each. BOTH get promoted to Senior Lieutenants (Kyle "Kwic" Warwick and Durwin "Birdie" Sparrow, respectively).

I would like to lay claim to the naming rights of the unnamed Union-class DropShip. She shall be named "Fireball Express" and is captained by Alicia "Moondrop" Jennings. If allowed, the six AC/5s and six LRM-20s have been replaced by six PPCs and six Large Lasers. All weight saved from this switch would go into extra heat sinks to deal with the heat burden of the refit.

As long as it passes Irose muster. I was going to suggest Hammer Team cause Tanaka was originally from their just as "Doc" Agren was from CavTeam One. So there is that tie in there. TONGS Team fits cause of their 4/6 movement and I believe all 12 of our 'Mechs are PPC equipped. Hell even the "Fireball Express" fits in with its six additional PPCs. How about "Bolt Action" for a company nickname thanks to all those lightning bolts? The "Stormbringers" could work too.

Added one more 'Mech to the Regiment . . . Grognard left out a key character from Team RED. That of Sarah Ross (played by Mary-Louise Parker). Well, we have a spare 'Mech berth on the Grim Reaper anyway, so . . . why not?

And since it is funny (to me, at least), I stuck her in an assault 'Mech -- a CHARGER. Well, it is the updated Kurita version (the CGR-3K) that has an extra light engine, five jump jets, and pretty much upgrades, overhauls, and outright replaces ALL of the weapons!

Anyway, hope y'all don't mind.

That gives us 94 BattleMechs (with an average weight of ~57.18 tons), 18 Aerospace Fighters, 12 tanks, and 140 infantry. Plus Techs, support staff, and the crews for 1 JumpShip and 9 DropShips. Somewhere in the neighborhood of 550-600 total personnel.

Not bad, folks. Not bad at all.

Not to be nit-picky, but neither Rapier carries PPC's.:

In short, we may not carry bottled lightning, but anyone that tangles with us will regret it....And that doesn't count potential wing-loads to start the battle. (I've always found a volley of Rockets fired at long range an effective way of breaking an enemy's formation as they avoid the barrage. Which allows you to close the distance, negating any range advantages. And once we get close...AC-20, BOOM, headshot! And if the opponent happens to be a dropship, well, suck to be them. @85 tons, that's a lot of rockets we can carry, even with a good load of drop-tanks for extra fuel.)
