As long as there's a reason we're on the maps this time. :P

Personally I like the Dreadnaught, even the artwork. It does what the fiction needs it to do and to be quite honest I love how Battlestar Dreadnought made it's get away from Terra. :D

Nice write up.

Like the Dreadnought, very happy when that mini came out.

The story behind it is certainly epic, and I think you could adapt it's last tour of duty to a 'Mech Scenario as well.  Something akin to a small group of Royal 'Mechs trying to fight their way in the first days of the Coup to get the Last Dropship Off Terra, possibly escorting civilians as well.  Would make for an interesting excuse to let PCs enjoy the perks of using Royal variants, countered by the fact that they are massively outnumbered and very likely to be overwhelmed unless they keep moving...

Nah, that wouldn't work. Amaris and his posse were almost as nuke-happy as The Word. Actually, there's already one such scenario from what I remember from way back, the last stand of the Royal Black Watch.. the real one, not those delusional idiots from the NWH who cosplay as them.

Yes, I remember the Black Watch scenario, though it was put together before things like Royal designs were entered into canon.  The idea is similar to that in a sense: A one off Scenario where Players can have super fancy toys but are ultimately doomed and have see how dearly they can sell themselves before biting it.  It's a Gauntlet with Tactical Nuclear Weapons >:D

Something that bugs me about this article (and sarna's) is the insistence that two lost were due to "navigational errors", when Historical: Reunification War says nothing about that, it says [some] were damaged from navigational errors during James McKenna's coup against the Terran Alliance. It says two were lost (no causes given) during the age of war.
