So, with nothing else to do this afternoon I stuck Way of the Warrior on, and I spotted a shot in the fight in Ops where Colm Meaney pressed the fire button on his phaser earlier than he should - the hero phaser props had an LED at the front that lit up when the fire button was pressed, to give the FX team an indicator of where to place the beam effects.
So in the shot where a Klingon fires a disruptor and hits a crewman beside O'Brien, you can see the front of his phaser shine a bright white for a second or two before he actually fires. There's a similar shot in First Contact, when Picard and Lily first encounter each other in the Jeffries Tube.
