Battle Armor BV
« on: 09 June 2011, 19:08:56 »
I picked up record sheets 3075 for the Rogue Bear BA rules, and the record sheet says that they cost 67 BV. Is that per suit, or for the entire point?

Per suit.
Mordin Solus: We need a plan to stop them.
John Shepard: We fight or we die. That's the plan.
Ashley Williams: Wow. That's the plan? Is it just me, or did Shepard have better plans before he died?
Urdnot Wrex: Silence! This is the best plan anyone, anywhere has ever had!
Garrus Vakarian: Yes! I AM SO THERE I AM THERE ALREADY!

Thanks, that makes more sense than 67 for the whole point :D I can't wait to start shuttling these guys around on my Fenris.

just remember the BV modification for number of suits in a unit.  it's not a straight individual BA BV * number of suits in unit.

And remember, that you will possibly get slightly different BV values from the official squad BV, because the trooper BV on the Record Sheet is rounded and the unrounded original trooper BV is used to calculate squad BV for official Record Sheets.

I guess this would be a good place for this question...

For suits with AP weapon mounts, but no specified weapon, what value is used for the AP weapon's BV? Just 1?

That's rather bizarre, isn't it though?

I mean, considering the speed factor calculation, that one point hardly matters, but it is a point? The record sheets don't care what's on the AP mount, by simply giving it one, you've checked the "AP" box, giving it an attack (or am I missing something?)

It was decided, that the basic AI weaponry a BA can have has no BV. That's just how it is.
If you change the weapon to something else, though, you will have to recalculate BV for the suit.

So a point of Rogue Bears is 67*7=469?

466, the rounding "problem" happens here. But yes.

close enough.  because the 67 is rounded (from 66.512) and the point BV is not supposed to be rounded till after the multiplication, it is very slightly off.  (466 versus 469).

The Record Sheet in the print RS 3075 product shows 67, so he doesn't really have another BV to go from.

Just pointing out why the MUL has a slightly different number.  (OK, I could just admit it has a slighty different number because that's what you told me it is...but if everybody asked you every time they needed a BV..well, we have other work for you! *grin*)
