I wondered the same thing.

Here's to hoping that ambiguity is in fact our friend!

Maybe the folks who aren't working feverishly this Thanksgiving and Black Friday should show a bit of respect to those who are.

I apologize if I came off disrespectfully.

I'm just a huge fan of the game and it takes me places.  Please don't let that color your view of me because I certainly appreciate all of the hard work the writers and developers are doing and will yet do.

I don’t think anyone here thinks poorly of anyone asking for and/or hoping to see new products today. People wouldn’t be on this site if they weren’t unusually passionate about Battletech.

Just… you know… chill out, guys. Yesterday was a major US holiday and a lot of people are already working very hard behind the scenes to update the CGL Store with Force Packs while the rest of us sit on our butts eating leftovers

Any chance of a revised ETA for it? Cyber-Monday maybe, or pushed back a full week?

Or more?

If we haven’t seen it by now I would assume they are busy with other work and we will not see it today. Which is understandable.

While it is understandable it's also a problem when they clearly took the time to craft two product announcements and failed to mention that the Rec Guide was being moved. They created the expectation that we are getting a release when they published the schedule but failed to may note of a change to it.

I think the frustration comes from that and it was entirely avoidable with three lines added to the announcement.
Rec guides I think are one of the products that have been most anticipated but when people are expecting a release and start checking at 2pm like I did and I am sure others did as well and we get a ambiguous statement two hours later people are understandable frustrated.

No. Too much Black Friday stuff going on.

Is that pushing the Rec Guide release schedule back, or are you just going to release it next week and then continue with the previously planned release schedule?

MODERATOR NOTICE

A moderator politely said to chill out on the questions and complaints about the Recognition Guide not being released, communicated, etc.  That was ignored.  We've locked the thread for a few hours to let you get it out of your systems.

Maybe this will be a little easier to remember:
QUIT BRINGING UP THE RECOGNITION GUIDE

Any failures to follow those simple written instructions will be met with Rule 3 warnings.  This is a No Recognition Guide Zone for 96 hours.  Don't believe me, post about the topic and see what happens.

The Recognition Guide was intentionally delayed.  That series has had a number of people working very hard to deliver a high-quality product and management decided that their work deserved more recognition than being lost amidst a wave of other materials on the same day.  Given the lack of civility and maturity displayed so far, this is not open for discussion for 96 hours.  Everyone needs some distance from this before it's discussed further.

Which brings me around to another subject: At least one person at CGL worked for many hours to line up the releases on Thursday during a day most of us were taking off for family, friends, and other personal pursuits.  They sacrificed time with their loved ones to deliver products.  Consider how their hard work lining up long-awaited products and new releases in a major sale was rewarded by the fans in this thread.

Please, just stop.  This thread is supposed to be a place for people to enjoy the excitement of upcoming releases and being able to talk about them with the developers.  I understand the disappointment of a release not coming when you'd hoped for it, I was looking forward to seeing what was in the release myself.  But keep your perspective, don't be bitter and entitled, and for the love of Blake don't take it out on the people who are working their asses off to get stuff into the hands of the fans that want it.

Is there any new info on IlClan era novels ?  Possibly titles, hints, teases ?

Yeah there's a bit in that list I'm thinking "I know I have one, but I mean having another wouldn't hurt. Right?"  >:D
It's not about winning or losing, no it's all about how many chapters have you added to the rule books after your crazy antics.

So far, I’ve only bought one repeat pack, and that was to reproduce one lance of my merc unit in the new plastics.

I’ve spent the weekend wrestling with not trying to do the same with my Ghost Bears since it would require buying two Stars if I want to have all of the necessary mechs in BOTH my Alpha Bears and in my General Clan pool.

I'll be doubling two more stars.

Heavy striker - mod the garg to an E, loki to a M, fenris to D, dragonfly to B, and I'm not sure what I'm going to do with the Vulture
Heavy - Every faction needs more marauders and whammies, just ignore the IIC, hunchie gets the ATM treatment to a 3, supernova gets modded into a 2/3 magnetized, and the behemoth... maybe a three, maybe a seven.

The megamat ls tempting, but since I have the desert pack I'll probably skip even if I could get it without insane shipping.

I almost bought another Heavy Star when they first became available a couple weeks back, but decided not to buy any duplicates until I paint the ones I already have.
I have spoken.

I recognize and acknowledge that I’ve seen all of those words before and understand their individual meanings.

I just… don’t understand them in that specific order.

it's the "until I paint the ones I already have" that broke my brain

I have mechs from when I initially got into the game that are still unpainted.

I wish I could purchase the new plastic mechs individually but I understand why I can’t. Like I’d want just a Cauldron Born and Kingfisher but I don’t need another Crossbow and Huntsman (which I’ll never use).

As far as painting goes…. I’ve been working up the desire to assemble and paint my minis for the past three years now lol. I MIGHT finally have all the materials….. maybe.

If you use Facebook, I'd recommend getting on the trade and sell page for Battletech and sell off any extras that you don't intend to use. Mechs like the Crossbow and Huntsman should go fairly quickly. I don't see those mechs offered much so people would likely grab them as fast as they can.

Buying the new plastics just gives you a valid excuse for leaving your old minis unpainted.  You don't need an excuse for the new ones because they're still new.

I hear that. I'm finally painting a firegut from Vor that I bought in 2000. Figured my Pathfinder DM can find use for it.
