Eventually, the supply chain will stabilize and things ought to speed up.

A few have. Unless they find a way to dramatically increase the number of sculpts per year (and not flush profitability down the drain), it’s going to be years before we see a substantial number

I wanted to make a comment about not holding your breathe while waiting for it to be made but chose not to.

Clint is up on Patreon, looks solid.  Never bought a Clint mini, but I think this could be a good one.

It's not about using them in a game, that's not being prevented, it's about being able to have one and paint it.

Kansas City players, or people who are just passing through the area, come join us at the Geekery just off Shawnee Mission Parkway for BattleTech!  Current days are Tuesdays in the afternoon and evening.  I can't make every single week, but odds are pretty good that somebody will be there.

In spite of Scroggins pitilessly slamming the Clint for being boring, it is indeed a nice looking piece.

  • We can do it. We have to.

To be fair, the basic Clint is one of the most generic mechs in the game behind the Centurion and the Bug Mechs. Even the 55-ton trio stand out more by at least having more specialized roles.

(In before the inevitable comments: the Shadow Hawk is so aggressively multipurpose that it stands out compared to the Clint.)

I am thinking improvised general design, from the early 3050's during an OmniMech shortage, mostly build from remaining spare parts stockpiles.

I’ve never read the original MFUK material on it, but I could imagine such a design being introduced as the premier new assault ‘mech for the Jaguars. Brand new but also somewhat familiar.

Seems the old fluff indicated it was to "correct" the Dire Wolf's slow speed. So 4/6 moving 100 tonner.

I always thought that Clint was trying to model after Clint Eastwood since he was a slim guy during his run as an action hero back in the day.

Precisely that.  Maybe a Marik Militia or Victoria Rangers paint scheme?  I don't know where it might fit in.

I just wish people would stop thinking that the Iron Cheetah comes from MFUK. It does not. It comes from MechForce North America. It debuted in MNA Quarterly, Volume 1 Issue 4,  every bit of it, from fluff to stats to the instructions on how to kitbash a mini. The most that MFUK has to do with it is that they reprinted the record sheets, like they did with all MNA designs. MFUK has some of its own good homebrew stuff, but the Iron Cheetah is not among those.

Apologies, didn't get into MFNA until their last print run and so I only now of the Iron Cheetah from fellow fans.

I just hope that it’s faster than the original stats. If it’s going to be named “cheetah”, it needs to be FAST (at least for its size).

How fast can you make a hundred ton Mech go? 400XLs aren't a good engine option if you want to carry guns.

Give it MASC or something so it's fast in short bursts... just like a real cheetah.

Seriously those things are drag racers, not endurance racers. They can hit 60mph for a few seconds but they spend 23 hours day sleeping just like your housecat does.  ;D

Technically, you can make them go at least 10 hexes a turn in a straight line without trying to go to engines greater than type 400’s with the correct options.

They can also be made to jump up to 7 hexes a turn with the correct equipment chosen.

Not sure both could be done in the same chassis though. Haven’t tried (yet).

Edit: Yes. Yes, it can be done without losing a single bit of armor, and with an almost full advanced electronics package too. And still have some weapons.

That’s disturbing.

No worries. I just get a little twitchy about sources. Bit of a pet peeve.

I wonder if this new Iron Cheetah will be just a replication of the existing stats or if it is... let's call it "reinterpretation".
400-rate XXL engines are actually rather efficient (ignoring any potential heat issues and how heat sinks cut to payload and space), massing 17.5 tons. Clan MASC on top of that is 4 tons and a Supercharger is 2 tons. So 23.5 tons total. For contrast, 400-rated XL is 26.5 tons.
Combining MASC and SC allow for 10 hex max movement, which is incredible for a 100-tonner.
With endo and ferro and a lot of engine heat sinks, there's something like 40 tons or so for payload, though space might be tricky.

I'm inclined to bet for original stats though.

Right, it would be in the Munchkin category if it is too optimized.

Think someone (jymset?) noted that RecGuides did push boundaries though. There's been some neat and powerful new units and configurations. I wouldn't mind seeing a "super" 'Mech, figure BV will mean it is OK, makes fielding one a big decision.

Speaking of optimized, I'd love to see that apocryphal Tundra Wolf with the downgraded engine but two Gauss Rifles or two Ultra AC/10's as its primary armaments become canon.  A story I wrote depends on it!

Good news, then.  It's in RS: 3145 NTNU as the Tundra Wolf 5.  225 engine, twin Gauss rifles.

That's the Tundra Wolf 5.  It's in Record Sheets 3145: New Tech, New Upgrades.

That's excellent!   I was nervous about its status.  But it is a cool design, and it makes up for being slow by the dakka factor, as Empyrus said.
