Yes, I'm still chasing the 75-ton crab dream. This time around going for main weapons that are roughly halfway between the Crab's 5 tons large laser and the King Crab's 14 ton AC20.
The Robber Crab was developed in the early-3040's by a joint taskforce in the still-somewhat-new Federated Commonwealth to show off technologies recovered from the Helm Memory Core. Initially plagiarized developed from Marauder chassis, the team sought to utilize the protective housing of the Crab family's claws rather than try to reinforce the barrels of the arm-mounted LB 10-X autocannons. A trio of medium lasers were mounted in the "nose" of the mech reminiscent of the 50 ton Crab. Further close in firepower was provided by paired SRM6s in the torsos while two tons of ammo allowed for alternative munitions. A 300XL engine housing 11 double heat sinks powered the mech to a top speed of 64.8 kph while still running cool in most circumstances. While a promising design, the sudden invasion of the clans put an accidental halt to production out of more than the initial few small facilities.

Thrown together by the Davion half of the FedCom Civil War, the Robber Crab 6D replaced the LB 10-X autocannons with the AFFS's new favorite invention: a pair of rotary AC5s fed by two 3-ton ammunition bins in each side torso. CASE and a switch to a Light 300 engine allowed the 6D to survive an ammo explosion. An endo-steel frame and removal of one medium laser, one heat sink, and half a ton of armor from the legs was needed to carry the weight of the new engine, however.

While the Davion and Lyran forces were busy fighting with each other, Draconis forces managed to capture or salvage a good number of 6Ds and brought them back for refitting. The autocannons were replaced with heavy ppcs, giving the 6D a more devastating punch out to longer ranges. The SRMs were replaced with a pair of MRM10s, the single ton of ammo for which was placed right behind the cockpit as an incentive for mechwarriors to avoid head hits. The standard medium lasers were swapped out for a quartet of ER models. In order to keep the mech cool, the number of heat sinks was increased to 16, eating up all the free space in the chassis.
