I am not that lucky, apparently.

Minor preview: One of the Skinwalker configs is likely one of the top five 'Mechs in the game, but you won't find out which until tomorrow.

Kansas City players, or people who are just passing through the area, come join us at the Geekery just off Shawnee Mission Parkway for BattleTech!  Current days are Tuesdays in the afternoon and evening.  I can't make every single week, but odds are pretty good that somebody will be there.

You should see the ones that didn't make the cut.

Skinwalker is scary in multiple ways--and the BV is definitely one of them!

To BV or not to BV that is the question.

This post would have included a bunch of reviews if there weren't seven other Assault 'Mech sheets on top of the ten Atlas ones.  Stand-by for tomorrow.

Agreed.  Volume 24 was a monster.

I wonder if we can get the page count to 50 before tomorrow, so that Scotty can have a whole new thread for his volume 24 review.

It's a side effect of being a group of targeting computers in a mech shaped trench coat

It's definitely possible.

Looking back at the configurations/variants I designed, I averaged a C/C- rating. My best being an A and my worst being a pair of Fs (both of which I disagree with being so low, but for different reasons).

You know, a logical side effect of the Mercenaries KS is that there will be more Recognition Guides for the updated versions of the mechs included.  So we just have to keep Scotty alive and healthy so we can have more reviews!

1.  New Mech Models
2.  Mechs put in Recognition guides
3.  Scotty Reviews the Rec Guides

I'm interested in the lesson in cartography that comes from reviewing so many Atlases.

If we're going to get new rec guides for the new kickstarter, I hope that they branch out to doing equipment that's not in the BMM.

That'd be cool--but I'll get all the new material with new art I can get.

I actually hope not, prefer not to get into powercreep from that . . . if the Black Knight, Warhaw, Awesome, or Supernova did not get new versions with RHS, no reason to give one to a Penetrator.

Would it be untoward to ask which was the A Mech and which were the Fs (or all of your creations if you feel so inclined) and what considerations went into your designs? I've always enjoyed when creators chime in to give some background on their work, but I can appreciate wanting to preserve a bit of mystery in the process.

I feel certain at least one of the Fs was a mech with Arrow IV, which does not actually deserve an F but I am at heart a petty and spiteful god.

That's what mine were for.  I understand why you put them, but I still love them anyway :).

Well, there are vehicles that are not in BMM... but I'm not counting on it extending much past that.

I'm hoping that with the vehicles we'll get more focus on C3.

I just like that there's a new quantity to consider when designing 'Mechs - whether or not the design will give Scotty an aneurysm.

I wonder how many speed enhancements, ammo bins, and PPC capacitors I can mount on a ‘mech while still including an artillery piece…

The A was the Gargoyle J. The Fs were the Mad Dog I and the Arctic Cheetah J.

Is that MASC & Supercharger or TSM & Supercharger?

TSM, but it also must have enough Streak racks that need to fire to hit +9 heat, and to maintain net 0 afterwards.
