Reusability of BattleMech Jump Packs
« on: 01 August 2024, 08:16:56 »
Page 105 of the sixth printing of Tactical Operations: Alternate Eras states that a BattleMech Jump Pack is automatically jettisoned once depleted, including when used in a combat drop.

Is it considered destroyed at this point, or could it be retrieved (like a Jettison-Capable Weapon) and refueled at a later point so it can be reused in the future?

If it can be refueled, could you confirm that it uses petrochemicals like other chemical jump jets (Page 24, Campaign Operations, fourth printing) and that it is refueled at a rate of 25 kilograms of fuel per fuel point (Page 23, Strategic Operations: Advanced Aerospace Rules, fourth printing)?

Follow-up question: the term "'Mech Drop Pack" is used interchangeably with "'Mech Jump Pack". Am I correct in assuming the difference is that a Drop Pack has only enough fuel to be used for a combat drop? If so, is that minimum fuel equivalent to 1 Jump MP?
