If variants are mentioned in either of the TROs they are "free game" to use, correct?

correct.

the RS3039 unabridged is the best source as it has all the toys you can use for this one. it is also the one for your sheets.

Instead of decals, could painted numbers and insignia be used to gain skill improvement?

The Marauder was actually removed from the painting later by the Soviets. :wink:

I will be bringing my friend Steve to the game on the 29th.  Question: can he bring a DVS-1D Devastator into the battle?  He also has a Jagermech, Enforcer and a Valkyrie.  All exist before 3039.
