4   Partisan sabotage I. One ‘Mech, chosen by the player and has at least one ton of ammo (or does not have the ENE special ability) finds it’s ammo bins have been sabotaged. For BattleTech rules, roll 2d6 the first time each ammo bin is used.  On a 5 or less, the ammo bin is worthless after the first shot. For Alpha Strike play, the unit takes a weapon hit critical effect after the first weapons attack it makes.
5   Partisan sabotage II. One ‘Mech, chosen by the player, loses half its armor. For BattleTech, mark off half (rounded down) the armor on each location. For Alpha Strike, halve the Armor for the unit (round up, minimum of 1 Armor lost or 0 Armor remaining).
6   Priorities scambled. Your support was ordered to report to an emergency. You can accept receiving half the default BattleField Support Points for your scale (16 BSP per scale) for this track, or pay (in bribes and/or enticements) a number of SP equal to twice the BSP you wish to avoid losing (up to 32 SP per scale to avoid losing the 16 BSP).
7   Rushed maintenance. Your employer forced you to hurry maintenance to get back in the field. At the beginning of each time one of your unit’s make their movement,   roll 2d6. On a 9+, the sand and grit interferes, decreasing your running/flank speed by 1 MP (BT), or reducing your MV by 2” (AS).
8+   Roll again and your combat bonus has been held up by “paperwork”, you receive 100 less SP for the combat bonus for this track.  You will receive all delayed SP at the end of the contract, with a 10% bonus (10 SP for every 100 SP delayed).”

Errata Suggestions:

Pg. 38 "Switching Between Alpha Strike and BattleTech Gameplay:" Should change "The player builds the force as an Alpha Strike force (80 PV at Scale 1): to read "The player builds the force as an Alpha Strike force (100 PV at Scale 1)" to match the previous material.

Pg. 38 "Taking One For the Team" References WP points for objectives. This does not match with the system in this book as objectives do not give direct rewards. Perhaps it should have the same reward as playing the OpFor in "Acts of Piracy"? One half Base Pay as a bonus.

Pg. 40 "Hell's Horses Purchase Options - Vehicles" remove the Support Points column.

Pg. 132 "Transportation" Change Assault to Invasion.

Pg. 135 "Attacker/ Defender Determination Table" Change Defense to Garrison, Covert to Expedition, Assault to Invasion.

Elemental III, change BSP Cost to “26(30)”

Their damage was also changed from “3x2” to “6x2”.

Reporting:
P. 95 “Temporary Hire” - It’s unclear how hiring Abrax and his Elementals work - it says “If using BSP assets, hiring Abrax allows the player to field one or two Elemental battle armor units for their BSP cost.” If using BSP assets you can just spend BSP on Elementals anyways. Is the intent to waive the BSP cost in lieu of the SP cost, or to allow players adhering to voluntary restrictions on the BSP assets they take based on faction availability to take Elementals anyways?

Suggested Errata for the Pursuit Mission

Either the Attacker or Defender should not be Raiders

The Prevention and No Quarter Goals should be
Prevention (Defender Only) / No Quater (Defender Only)
and the Escape/We Were Never Here should likewise be for Attacker Only

Otherwise turn 1, attacker enters the board, and turn 2 the defender enters the board with 1 MP and then exits the board with 1 more MP and gets both objectives without trying.

Either way... the roles/goals of this mission seem to be mixed up.

Step 1 is on p94, "Each month of the contract, roll 1d6 twice..."
The victory condition is not 2 out of 3, it's two in a row.  Thus the variable intensity, players can alternate winning until all 6 tracks are played, or a player can win the first two tracks and win.

p95, Victory

to "Otherwise, whichever player has successfully completed more tracks after the third month is the winner."

Page 133: Pirate Raids are paid in WP not SP. 
Page 135: The last paragraph references Scales above 3.  And while the table on page 31 can be extrapolated to larger values than Scale 3, there's no indication that this can or should be done.

Page 54: the 21st Centauri Lancers both require forces to have a Special Command Ability to join, and provide discounted prices for learning further SCAs, but there are no rules for acquiring SCAs anywhere in the book. Their only mention is on this page.

"COMMAND TRAINING
In addition or instead of Formation Training (see above), a command may train in command wide special abilities (see Special Command Abilities, p. XX, CO or p. XX, AS:CE). The number of Special Command Abilities a command may learn is limited by its average Experience Rating. For each track, a force may select one (and only one) of its trained Special Command Abilities to use that track.

P.20 SP Activity Cost Table
What is the SP cost to rearm one-shot (OS) weapons? Suggestion: 1 per weapon (this keeps the cost trivial for units that mount an incidental OS weapon or two, but means dedicated rocket launcher platforms do need a bit more consideration).

[NCKestrel] none, only ammo in slots (ie. ton or half ton) needs to be paid for.

Almotacen is shown as a white spectral class system on all the maps of the region, but in the Tamar Rising Map and in Sarna it is listed as a red spectral class system.

Suggestion: This should be a red spectral class system.

THE ERROR:
Combat pay is based on completing the track, not success or failure of the Contract.
  • If the player is unsuccessful in the contract but does not break contract, the player receives one-half, rounded up, combat pay (250 SP per Scale).
THE CORRECTION: Replace the first instance of “contract” with “track”
  • If the player is unsuccessful in the track but does not break contract, the player receives one-half, rounded up, combat pay (250 SP per Scale).

Location: Appendix, the Mercenary Contract Record Sheet, under Common Costs/Pay

The Error:
The Combat Bonus pay is different than what is specified in the text of the rulebook on p. 18.  The contract record sheet says 0 combat pay is awarded if "No Obj/Lost Units," and 50% base pay is only awarded if a player completes at least one objective.  P. 18 says that the player is awarded 50% base pay if the player "is unsuccessful, but does not break contract."  Completing an objective is not required.

The Correction:
Change first two lines in the record sheet under Combat Bonus to say:
"Broke Contract: 0
Unsuccessful: 50% Base Pay"

100% is no/insignificant support, you’re paying the same as you would in the field.

There are no repair costs or Omni switching costs for alpha strike, only costs based on tonnage. couldn't it be

armor repair = size x10
structure damage = size x 40
Crippled =size x 60
Destroyed = size x 100
switch omni = size x 5

This would make size 1 pay the same as a 20 ton mech, size 2 a 40 ton, size 3 a 60 ton, and size 4 a 80 ton and make it easier than looking up tonnages.

Sorry, not trying to make up my own rules, it was just a suggestion. It just seems obviously missing, especially when selling price and purchase price have values based on alpha strike PV.

This would make size 1 pay the same as a 20 ton mech, size 2 a 40 ton, size 3 a 60 ton, and size 4 a 80 ton and make it easier than looking up tonnages.

Alpha Strike still uses the tonnage for repair costs.  If you have a rules question, please send to the rules questions threads, the errata threads are not for making up your own rules.

Correct, there are no random retainer contracts available on Almocaten in 3151-3152.

It is not clarified in the Hinterlands release that BV and PV is not modified with skill upgrades. This was errata’d in the “Chaos Campaign: Mercenaries” booklet in the “Battletech: Mercenaries” box set rules.

Correction:
p. 16, Skills
Add new paragraph/sentence at end of Skills:

"In Chaos Campaign: Mercenaries, you do not adjust BV or PV for skill advances. This includes the initial skill advances above, as well as skill advances purchased later in the campaign."
