I'm starting to wrap my head around this, and am looking for confirmation or clarification on my understanding of personal combat. (Both example in the book have the target with depleted or non-existent armor, so no help there.)
1) My character fires at a bad guy using a laser rifle (4 damage) and hits. The bad guy is wearing flack armor (-2 damage from ballistic weapons). 4 damage is marked against bad guy's armor and that's it, right?
2) Same situation but weapon is an assault rifle (4 damage). 2 damage is marked against the armor only.
3) Once the target's armor is depleted, the full damage is applied to the Physical Condition Monitor.
4) Flechette weapons basically do half damage to all armor, full damage to squishy bits.
5) Regarding customizing weapons: A standard laser rifle does 4 damage which matches AToW (4E/4). Some laser rifles traded base damage for increased AP (5E/3), and visa versa (3E/5). Damage increase is no problem, but what about better/worse AP? How would you keep this flavor in Destiny?
