Allied dropships in AtB scenarios
« on: 26 September 2022, 13:58:45 »
Is there a reason why employers would randomly give merc units temporary command of a drop ship, especially when the mercs have their own?  Just seems weird that on some scenarios I seemingly randomly get an allied drop ship.

On a semi-related note, is it wrong to use said drop ship to destroy the opposing by repeatedly landing/taking off rather than use its weapons?

They are you're allies; your success and failure are theirs as well.

Unless you F up the roll (in either direction). Plus terrain has it's say in the matter...

You'll always succeed at landing, the roll is basically just for how hard you land. Spheroids can also land pretty much everywhere, as they'll flatten the ground beneath them (and automatically crush any units unlucky enough to be directly below).
