Customizing the Rules tab

Hello! I know that you can create an html document (ServerRules.html) in the /data folder and this will render on the Rules tab, allowing you to customize what is displayed there. This is straightforward enough as it is just simple html and css. But, I cannot for the life of me figure out how to get links to work from this page. The standard <a> tags do not work. Is it even possible to set up links from this tab? And if so how would one go about doing that?

For a Mekwars server correct?

This would be locally for myself when I logged on to the MegaMek server. I am just looking to put some quick links there in case I need to look anything up in a hurry.

This is going back 2 to 4 years. . . I think SLDF_Gunslinger and Padraig worked on the rules tab for Mekwars.  It did work for me over at Legends 2.0 but at some point it also stopped working for me too.
