Secret bonus to help the bot

Does the bot get some type of secret bonus to hit location when a mech stands still I have noticed an increase chance to head hit with bots only if a mech stands still ?

Doubtful.  I think you're just unlucky!  I don't think the bot can make aimed shots, plus you can't target the head unless the target is immobile, even with a targeting computer.

Ok so I did a test with player vs player and player vs bot and it seems the bot gets about 12% to 15% more head hits then players.   For the test I used custom mechs so all they had where ac2 and used a custom map to limit players movement.    When a players mech stands still the amount of head hits they take is increased, they seems to be mitigated if the players mech just turn one hex.  Next will run a bot vs bot test.

No, that's just small sample size - I'm assuming you handled a few dozen shots.  This has been covered before, including someone taking a very large (somewhere around 10k) sample roll size and doing a statistical analysis on the results.  It rolls very, very close to what you would expect from physical dice.

I will say that the rolls can be a bit 'streaky' but over time it balances out.

There are NO cheats or advantages programmed in for the bot. You are welcome to review our code as its fully visible on the repo.

Pretty sure Princess can't, but the Testbot could - both with immobile targets and with TCOMPs.

I always imagined MegaMek rolling a giant box of doom of 1D6, 2D6, and 3D6 and assigning roll results in the order they happen in a turn.  I'm not sure if that's how the RNG works so I'm curious.  I think you can choose different RNGs in the game options as well.

They are technically rolled on demand as needed, but from a philosophical point of view, there really is no difference between these.

Also, you can enable RNG logging. You quickly find out there are 10 to 100 times more RNG calls than you thought there were, so the 8 12s the bot rolled this turn aren't so statistically improbable.
