What is A GAC

 Was playing mek hq and had a couple of  LAM Pilots come with ability weapon specialty GAC/2 and GAC/6.  IS there a source book im missing just curious about what it is.   Sounds like something my kids would have played with along with slime.   Thanks for the info.

It's an unofficial fan weapon I programmed years ago.  I credit MekTek staff member Solarmech for creating it and its rules.  It behaves like a long-ranged SRM that can use different AC ammo types. 

I believe all those fan weapons were removed by the time the latest development release was published.

EDIT: The name stands for Gatling Autocannon.  Not quite a rotary especially due to it not being able to select a firing mode per Tournament Legal rules.

Ah ... I believe the GAC was an unofficial weapon (Gatling AC ?) dating to when unofficial weapons were included in MM. It should probably be excluded from the table for weapon specialty SPAs ...

I don't see the GAC weapons regularly (still show up in the MekHQ Purchase Parts dialog), but GAC ammo is still present in 49.7 as an option for standard ACs.

We've not removed any selectable equipment, just some unfinished unofficial equipment that was never used.

There's also now a doc for the unofficial equipment that still exists.

Thanks for clarifying!  For some reason I thought that already happened, but maybe I'm confusing that with the removal of unofficial BV options.

There is not, it's a made-up weapon for MegaMek.
