5th Syrtis Fusiliers on Parade
« on: 21 November 2021, 19:23:58 »
The local game store was a Kickstarter backer and I was lucky enough to be there when they placed it on the shelf.  50 new mechs were purchased and they are either being added to old forces or creating new ones.

My battalion of Syrtis Fusiliers received these two new lances of mechs.  They had to turn in a company’s worth of mechs to get the new glorious sculpts.  They represented the most classic Davion mechs of Wave 2

Here is the full “reinforced” battalion with their VTOL and air support.

Here the mechs all snugged away in their dropship berths until battle is called.

Thank you and enjoy

While the hand actuators on the Nightstar have never made a ton of sense; at least you could visualize the lower arm rotating, and using the hands to stand, or push-off surfaces. The new hand / claw placement is just beyond silly, tho.

Everyone is entitled to their own taste but I can't personal see how the original hand placement is any more justified. I'm sure you have applied some logic to it but I'm not seeing it as any better or worse, it's works the same game wise regardless.

Regardless, this is a beautiful combined arms group. Lovely work OP. Bonus points for the Hammerhands, and support units...

Thank you all,

marauder648,

The process is...

1. Prime Black
2. Base coat GW Caliban Green.  The original Dark Angels green
3. Black wash - they are near black at this point
4. Drybrush Highlight - Waaggh flesh
5. Drybrush Sharp highlight - Goblin green
6. Details - cockpit / weapons
7. Flocking

I hope that helps
