Some Aerospace Fighters
« on: 21 January 2022, 22:41:11 »
Hi All, just posting up some work I finished off last year.

Starwalkers of the 1st Amphigean LAG. A medley of junkyard and various camo schemes. 'MechBusters are a bonus here. Meant for use anywhere/anyplace/anytime.

1st Air Lances of the St. Ives Compact's 1st St. Ives Lancers (circa 3035, in my estimation).

2nd Tikonov Republican Guard in the field-expedient camo scheme I use with this force. I'd like to think Pavel Ridzik's forces slapped House Marik in such a paint scheme.

Those look great!

Could I ask of a shot next to an infantryman or BattleMech, please?  I've been wanting to fill out beyond the Corsair, but I'm curious about how well they scale.

Thanks, everyone.

Daemion, I have attached a photo of a selection of fighters with some unpainted infantry and newer 'mech miniatures (the Wolverine is plastic from the intro box, the Thud' and Griffin are IWM), as well as a limited selection of regional currencies, for scale.

I've also included a couple other aerospace minis not included in my original post, including a Corsair, so that you can see how that fits in. Personally, the Corsair's canopy has always felt a little small. I address this mentally by imagining the pilot's head is up there, while the rest of the pilot's body is tucked safely into the fuselage. I also have a couple unfinished Seydlitzes, a Stingray, and a Chippewa not pictured. The Stingray and Chippewa compare favorably in terms of scale to the others, the Seydlitz mini seems a bit too small.

Thanks. Good to see that they're more or less scale.

I see I'm not the only one who wanted to repose the T-Bolt's gun arm.

Wotan, since you liked them so well, here's my take on the complete Crimson Hawks set from 3039 (less a LAM which is still on the table, but won't have the red wings that these do):

Based on the description from Spotlight On: Crescent Hawks, the Crimson Hawks aerospace elements have red wings. At some point, I want to do the Crescent Hawks BattleMechs (at least the 3039 list), but as I started to work on them, the new miniatures began to enter production. My current plan is to use the legacy minis I have on hand (a Commando, a Wolfhound, and a Jenner), and to use the new miniatures for the rest as they become available in metal (I currently have a Locust which is done except for the base and a Griffin, which is close).

Daemion, yeah I really wanted to give him a "come at me" feel, like right before the missiles fire.
