Experiment with Citadel's Soulblight Grey Shade
« on: 27 September 2022, 02:54:06 »
I saw some posts about this new Citadel shade - Soulblight Grey. Basically, it does a better job for whites than Apothecary White, IMHO. Have a look:

The paint process:

- Prime with Corax White
- cover with Soulblight Grey, being careful to soak off any pooling
- 2 medium white drybrushes with Corax White
- my traditional ghostbrush with white primer, to hit the edges
- Detailing

That's it! Nice clean darker lines, suitable for ComStar, or Arcturan Guards.

Anyone else used this?
* No, FASA wasn't big on errata - ColBosch
* The Housebook series is from the 80's and is the foundation of Btech, the 80's heart wrapped in heavy metal that beats to this day - Sigma
* To sum it up: FASAnomics: By Cthulhu, for Cthulhu - Moonsword
* Because Battletech is a conspiracy by Habsburg & Bourbon pretenders - MadCapellan
* The Hellbringer is cool, either way. It's not cool because it's bad, it's cool because it's bad with balls - Nightsky
* It was a glorious time for people who felt that we didn't have enough Marauder variants - HABeas2, re "Empires Aflame"

The white looks very clean and you can see the dry/ghost brush highlights, well done as always!

Probably working on my Society septs for the next couple of weeks, then on to ComStar 394th Division!

...then on to ComStar 394th Division!

Nice. I think he'd like that a lot.

Look, dude, when you are a real mechwarrior you don't need to get all dressed up in cooling suits and cool helmets to work on your mech. You just strip down to your 1980s panties and crop top vest and start wrenchin' it.

Least I felt I could do. No-one is truly gone while they are remembered.
