I'm working on a commission for a CJF star and this is the first element and at the same time I'm experimenting with a new method of painting using mostly transparent paints lots of washes and tons of glazes.
My goal is/was to find a method that is effective and at the same time as fast as possible.
I started with a pre-painting phase using the dry brush technique by applying 4 shades of gray.
Subsequently I used a transparent green and subsequent washes (also using blue as a contrast)
After for the pre-highlight phase I mixed the color with the glaze.
On a rough estimate I spent less than 3h doing all of this and by my standards I'd say I was pretty quick.
PS
I am missing the final highlights and details which I hope to be able to finish in a couple of hours.
