Jagermech
« on: 17 October 2021, 22:20:35 »
I have had this mini since I was a kid, which makes it nearly 25 years old! Hopefully I did it justice with all those panels. And there were a lot of panels - even on the inside of torso sides. I also did my best to try and work with light volumes and bring the brightest highlights to around the cockpit and torso. And I am pleased with how well a pale flesh tone helps create highlights -- that little bit of pink makes all the difference.

The still water effect... not so much. It leaked around masking tape, peeled up with the masking tape, and then the masking tape ruined the paint on the base. So I had to fix that so it was "acceptable".

But hey, another one in the "pile of shame" down.

EDIT: and I noticed an annoying bit of fuzz that was in the picture. Ugh.

Looks great, like the shade of orange/tan (or whatever that is) and green, very nice camo!

Some people say challenging, I say bad miniature (and concept art).

Great painting there! Congrats

It has a lot of nice details and shapes to play with light volumes. I don't think it is bad at all. Everything is crisp and well proportioned on it. The only complaint is the stiff pose, but with only guns for arms there isn't much you can do.
