We start our trek through the remaining Unseen with the Rifleman. One of the more distinct 'Mechs of the Macross-based Unseen, jum the Rifleman has been with us for a long time, all the way back to Battledroids, through good times and bad, Unseen, Reseen, and now Classic, spawning the Rifleman II and Rifleman III. I could wax poetical but that's not why you're here. If you'd like to learn about using any of the Rifleman versions in game, see their 'Mech of the Week articles (Rifleman, Rifleman II, and Rifleman III).

Over the years, there have been many sculpts for the Rifleman:The Rifleman III has its own sculpt as well (BT-314). The Rifleman II doesn't have one yet (but it doesn't have its own artwork yet either). (The classic RFL-3N is probably a good stand-in for it.)

If you have any of these painted, please share pictures. We'd love to see them!

Our next two fortnights will be:
  • 8/1: Valkyrie
  • 8/15: Archer

EDIT: For some reason my original pics disappeared from the post, so I'm just replacing them with the ones from CSO since they're better lit than the ones I took with my phone camera anyway.

Moddified -6X/-7M in FWL 4. Oriente Hussars colors.
Still don't like the Parasol radar antennas of the reseen variant, so i created my own idea of a rotating radar antenna.
If the mech is delivered in two different variants, why building only one? Magnetised the arms for a fast weapons swap. Torso is magnetised as well.

Here is a 3N (7N2) from the Inner Sphere Battle Lance pack from the kickstarter, painted in 4th Davion Guards colors.  I love this sculpt, and have two more to paint but haven't settled on the unit yet.

Not my favorite 'Mech, in terms of performance, but I did like some of the 'Mechs that came in the Lance Pack.

I have a lot of RFLs, but, like the legion of other models, precious few images available. Here is one, though, in my Suzano Chasseurs livery:

Thought I might get a rocket ride when I was a child.          We are the wild youth,
But it was a lie, that I told myself                                          Chasing visions of our futures.
When I needed something good.                                            One day we'll reveal the truth,
At 17, I had a better dream; now I'm 33, and it isn't me.        That one will die before he gets there.

But I'd think of something better if I could

Coming in at number 2 of the most painted minis I have, is the Rifleman...

Davion - Sakhara Military Academy - RFL-3C Rifleman

Davion - Sakhara Military Academy - RFL-3N Rifleman

Davion - Sakhara Military Academy - RFL-3N Rifleman

Kurita - 2nd An Ting Regiment - RFL-3N Rifleman

These first four are from a campaign dating back to the early 90s. Basic painting technique, and I didn't repose the minis like I do now. The Sakhara RFL-3C was one of my first experiments into bashing. I liked how it came out, but I always regretted hacking up that Mauler.

Davion - Albion Military Academy - RFL-3N Rifleman

This Rifleman represents my return to painting somewhere in the late 2000s (08? / 09?). I had discovered this forum, as well as CamoSpecOnline, and they both greatly influenced my painting style. They also introduced me to the idea of what could be done with the minis, and really helped to launch my repose and bashing habit.

Mercenary / Davion - Stormbringers / 256th Support Group - RFL-3C Rifleman

A second attempt at the RFL-3C.

Steiner - 23rd Arcturan Guards - RFL-3N Rifleman

Mercenary / Davion - Stormbringers / 256th Support Group - RFL-3N Rifleman "Winchester"

A custom made Rifleman... The "Winchester" variant is built exclusively at Kallon Industries' Talon facility in the Federated Suns.

Finally...

Mercenary / Steiner - Cranston Snord's Irregulars - RFL-3N Rifleman (FrankenMech)

While not a true Rifleman, Samuel "Shorty" Sneede's FrankenMech is primarily one.

First here's Rifleman IICs from Clan Wolf Beta Galaxy and Goliath Scorpion Delta Galaxy.
Next is a Rifleman MUSE WIND in urban camo, and a Steiner RFL-8D.
Last is a Davion 5th Crucis Lancers RFL-6X, and a Liao RFL-7M

Ok, where to begin...

OG Rifleman mechs and Primitive, along with a Primitive Rifleman modded up to represent the Rifleman II Kataga.

This is the rifleman out of the Wolf's Dragoons box, painted as Davis McCall's Bannockburn of the Gray Death Legion.

Agreed, but I do love any attempts to make a 3C
3041: General Lance Hawkins: The Equalizers
3053: Star Colonel Rexor Kerensky: The Silver Wolves

Against mechs, infantry have two options: Run screaming from Godzilla, or giggle under your breath as the arrogant fools blunder into your trap. - Weirdo

This is the 2nd GDL scheme I've seen lately & it is really growing on me!
