6mm animals?
« on: 21 October 2021, 05:29:51 »
hello there!
I have an irrational urge for 6mm beast-mounted infantry to accompany my mechs. As such I would like to know of what ranges you know that have horse-sized miniatures that can act as mounts. Goats, Wolves, Kangaroos and (duh) horses prefered, bt I am open to anything really ince I am no well versed in this scale of miniatures.
I would also need rifle infantry to act a raiders.

So, is there anything out there?

6mm Wargaming Info has a large list of suppliers and manufacturers of historical, fantasy and sci-fi ranges on its Links page.

(Scroll down ca. 30% of the linked page)

Irregular Miniatures has a bunch of 6mm.
I was thinking of getting elephants  camels and other animals that could be made into weird infantry.

It might also be worthwhile to look for other scales. A small lizard in 15mm or 28mm scale might stand in for a larger alien pseudo-dinosaur at 6mm, for example.

N Scale model railroad stuff might work for upsizing some animals. Z scale stuff would be suitable for horses, elephants, and larger mounts.

Great, thanks! I was specially interested in 6mm kangoroos that could be used as the Coventry cabgoroo corps (i think from a battlecorps story?) but anything goes and I have quite a feq option now. I have lso been directed to SW taun tauns for space kangoroos, so I might go that way if I fond them as 6mm miniatures. Lots of links to peruse, so thanks a lot.
