Wolverine II - Clan Wolverine
« on: 06 May 2011, 23:08:18 »
All right, first off remember that this is NON-CANON!  It's a scheme Mr. Balk came up with based on one from somebody over on LotB.  I'm sorry, but I've forgotten who, so I can't give proper credit.   :'(

I've done a couple pieces in this scheme before, and just did this one up for fun.  The base is cork.  This is likely going to be one of my last for-sale minis (it'll be on Ebay, please don't ask here!), as I'm not taking commissions anymore.    I love painting, but I need to focus on my writing if I'm going to make a career out of it.

I've only previously seen the art & the unpainted mini. Man, that looks wonderful.  [notworthy]

Jal, are the shoulder pauldrons integral to the arms, or are they separate pieces?

They're part of the arms.  It's a five piece mini - Two arms, torso, pelvis and left leg, and lower right leg.

Hi, Jal.  It was me. :-)  No wonder you've forgotten though, because I've been seriously absent from the BT boards for a few months.  Obnoxious life taking precedence and all that.

And you keep doing in justice.  Nice mini.  And speaking of justice that needs doing... I have a lance of guys in this scheme for Brian (Pirannha) that I seriously need to find the time to get the final details done on.  I'll share pics once I can get my head on straight.

Stick to painting...just kidding.

It looks great and even if it's not a canon paint scheme it's what i would use.

Interesting scheme.

Wolverine II is the only mini that manages to hold a gun as a pistol without looking totally silly doing it.

IMNSHO, of course  ;)

Hi, Jal.  It was me. :-)

Well, it was a very good choice of colors and pattern, and doing it with the beat up weathering just enhances its coolness.  I remember that original Spartan I worked off was really nice.  I hope to see more from you soon!

A damn fine job to end your commissions on.  I really like the scheme and ill have to give that cork base a try, it came out great.

I'm not going to stop painting, I'm just not taking commissions anymore.  I love to paint, but I spend too much time doing stuff for other people instead of doing what I want.  And since it's a commitment, I feel guilty doing other stuff when I have commission work to do.  I want to focus more on my writing, and I can do that better if I don't have a table full of minis that need to get done.  I'll probably start taking them again in the future, but for now most of my work will be for me, with the occasional auction piece like this one thrown in.
