Some people have also noted that she was routinely doing things a Monk RAW in 5e cannot do.

Add in there is a bit of a debate on if Monk is the worst class in D&D 5e or is actually overpowered and yeah I imagine it generates a lot of google searches that have nothing to do with how popular it really is.

Exactly.

Then you add in all the 1e/2e adnd searches for stuff like
Do monks need to GET allowed to use their high Dex to boost their weak AC at low levels?
Do monks need to be given str bonuses to hit/damage, to give them better combat abilities
Can monks benefit from drinking potions.....

So my only comment is WotC feels that D&D isn't bring in enough cash, so they are going for fans to pay..  and not understand that these fans are what is bring it mainstream.

There's a lot of clickbait commentary being posted on YouTube, Reddit, Twitter, and various gaming "news" sites right now but so far we don't actually know what WotC is doing, just what people who aren't in WotC say WotC is doing.  We should probably wait until the OGL 1.1 is actually released before making any declarations and honestly I'm not sure if it's something that's allowed in The Rules here at all.

Over the past 4 years in c/bus, i've had 4 different 2e adnd groups.

ALL four have died off.  Some cause of moving, some cause of preferring 4e/5e/pathfinder, and others for family issues..  Now i just can't seem to find anyone that is NOT 'only doing 5e rules'...

I'm in a PF2e game (play by post) at the moment... I like it less than PF1e, but more than no game at all.

Yeah I had asperations at one point to actually try Pathfinder 2e for myself and make up my own mind about it but the more I tried to penetrate the book, the more review videos I saw, and my gaming group being pretty well uninterested it's now a dust collector on the shelf.

The three-action economy is interesting, but not really convincing to me yet...  :-\

I knew Utah had to be up there; I saw people wearing, "d20", hats.
