Brissett is kind of an embodiment of the old Leroy Hoard quote: "if you need one yard, i'll get you three. if you need five yards, i'll get you three"

So, he's every Denver quarterback between 2015 and 2021.  ;D

I wouldn’t count on some of them to get three yards…

Why would they even think of sending Jimmy G to Seattle? I would not touch him due to his injury record. Geno and Drew (former Denver QB lol) might get Seattle 8 and 9 maybe even 9 and 8 but the NFC west is stacked against them. I could see a day three pick for one Gardner Minshew in spite of the denials from Pete and John. Jimmy G has a great ceiling but a fragile and spendy bet.  I see a 4th in NFC West for the Hawks this year and a possible draft for new QB next year.

*nod*

All this speculation that Seattle is still QB shopping has not made any sense to me.

To me you don't ask for a QB in a trade unless you intend to give the new QB a shot.

Locke I think will look better in Seattle than he did in Denver though.

To be fair, that wouldn't take a lot.

I'm not sure why Seattle would want him at this point. Their offensive line is a dumpster fire, they have a first round OT who will very likely struggle this year though he could be a building block for the future. At this point embrace the losses, see if Lock has any potential at all and start rebuilding next year. They've got two good receivers and a tight end, throw in some better OL and either draft a QB or find a disgruntled franchise one and the offense looks like it has promise. Jimmy G isn't going to help with any of that.

I think a lot of the Jimmy G talk is just the Niners want to be rid of him but Seattle is the only team he could go to and have a shot at starting. The Niners just made a mess of this and are going to have to eat it unless they get lucky and a starter goes down in training camp.

Either that or the Niners are more in on Jimmy G then they are letting on/know Trey isn't the future already and are keeping a hold of him because while he is injury prone there's just not a lot on the market QB wise right now.

i'm seeing a money issue. he's owed $26m in salary this year. i can't think off too many places that would pay that for who would likely be a backup, considering the highest paid backup QB last year was Taysom Hill at $12m. The 10th highest was Mac Jones at just under $4m. the niners may hang onto him in case someone needs an emergency injury replacement early to mid season... or could just eventually cut him as his dead cap number is about $1.5m (down from $25.4m last season).

The Browns managed to dodge a bullet. Watson is only getting six games.

Honestly I expected more but six still pretty much means playoff hopes are pretty well dashed.

I don't think Goodall put forth the punishment this time, but rather Sue Robinson.

Correct.  He has 3 days from when the punishment was announced to override it if he so chooses.  I have lost track of how long it has been now but I do believe there is still time for him to do so.

Fantasy football draft went down last night. Very low stakes $20 per team. Winner gets $40, rest goes to charity. My team was auto drafted because my four year old decided literally everything was upsetting enough to cry about. This is actually fine as I trust auto draft more than I trust me  ;D

No, we did not. I am not surprised nobody has discussed this, for a whole month. I have elements of my family opening hoping for a very, painful loss vs CAR. IDK myself but again, i find myself rooting for the Cavaliers this season...

Well, I guess it's that time again, to make predictions that look sensible in September but will look ridiculous in January.

AFC:
West-Cheifs
North-Ravens
South-Colts
East-Bills
Wild Cards-Chargers, Bengals, Dolphins

NFC:
West-Cardinals
North-Packers
South-Bucs
East-Cowboys
Wild Cards-Eagles, Rams, Vikings

Superbowl-Bills over the Bucs.

Welp, the Bears are in rebuild mode, so Im probably not gonna watch a lot of games this season. As long as Green Bay loses, I'll be happy.  8)

Chiefs definitely came out of the gate looking like they're going to win the AFC West again, here we go fifth consecutive AFCCG appearance.

If he can win a Superbowl this year he should go straight to the HoF.
