Interesting yes, but less interesting than the variety of links I was offered as a result of clicking...  ^-^

It’s been pushed back 3 weeks to September 21 for release, but we’re getting 3 episodes that first day.

So many different time lines in Star Wars.
I like the leas actor but we already know how the story ends the same with Obi Wan

And again, like Obi-Wan, it’s not about the end of the story, but rather the journey to the end.

Can we take a moment to appreciate the use of colour here?  the contrast of the rich earthy tones of the rebels and Andor's people vs the sterile whites, blacks and greys of the Empire?  Especially the shot of (presumably) young Cassian in the Imperial base?

The thing that stuck to my mind was that guy carrying an AK-47. I didnt know they had those things in Star Wars.  ^-^

(OK, I mean technically Han Solo did carry a Mauser, but it had enough props on it to make it look futuristic, at least)

Looks interesting and gives more backstory to characters we saw years ago in a previous film. Shame it's not a actual movie though.
I don't set an example for others. I make examples of them.

Every planet needs an AK I saw it and kind of thought the same but its a Rifle that's rugged on an outer rim planet it would be useful

Yeah, an AK is a very specific visual motif, it tells you an awful lot about these people without having to say a word.  Sure it's a little bit incongruous because it's a real-life gun with little or no physical mods (unlike the WWII guns in Star Wars), but most people won't care about that.

I'd be lying if I said I wouldn't check it out.  I'm curious at the least.

With Rogue Squadron and Rian Johnson's vague trilogy on the back burner of doom, this is the last announced Star Wars project I have any interest in, so I'm hoping it's good

As of May the movie is "pushed off to the back burner", even though they gave a 2023 release date the month before.

While true about most people, to be fair the AK platform is probably one of the most recognizable firearms in the world (it even shows up in the national flag of an African country...), so I think a lot of people are going to notice it. I saw it right away, & it makes the production come off a little cheap.

That being said, in Ep IV, both the Lewis machine guns (sans tray magazine) & MG34s were largely unmodded, so the tradition is there. But those weapons are less recognizable, at least.

HALO did the same thing in their series, as well.

Damon.

I think they've done it so people will notice - more people will see an AK and make the mental connection with guerillas and insurgents than will think the production is cheap because they're using AKs.

we've seen slugthowers before. the Tusken Raiders used a jezail looking bolt action, Aurra Sing used what amounted to an Elephant gun, vieogames have included a very modern looking shotgun.

the RPGs have had assualt rifles before as well, including one that sounds very AK-ish.

and Heir to the Empire in legends had a rifle with what was darn near an AK, just with a differently mounted magazine.
