I'm 8/10ths of the way through it.  Was mildly disappointed that they didn't get Tom Ellis back for Lucifer, but Gwendoline Christie was superb in the role.

He wouldn't have fit, he's done a totally different Lucifer than Sandman's (even if they are techncially the same cahracter, Tom's versison is years down the the road when he's resigned from Hell and different in manners and attitude than the Sandman Lucifer. It'd have ruined both versions really.

I know, but they already established that there were multiple versions of Lucifer in the show and also in the Arrowverse crossover.

Was a good series.

Wish they'd put Enter Sandman into a scene, though.

I have been very busy so I haven’t been able to watch past the first episode, wouldn’t be able to give it enough attention to truly watch it. I did very much enjoy episode one tho. And the “previews” at the end were cool. Almost like watching old school TV.  :D

A beaut6iful example of what you can do when you have people who respect the story line, and also know what will, and will not fit into the change between comic and TV.

I really loved Azazel though, it was nice that they kept the comic vision.

I'm 6 episodes in, and loving it. This is the first TV show that's really hooked me in I don't know how long. I've never read the comics so I've no idea how faithful it is to the source material, but so far all of these characters feel right. The only thing that threw me was Johanna Constantine, but I just assumed she was a cousin or something.

She's an alternate universe equivalent, since they couldn't secure the rights to the character for it.  They also had to cut out all the appearances of the Justice League.

Johanna Constantine is the ancestor of John Constantine.

In order to make it a bit simpler in the show (and because JJ Abrams has the rights to John Constantine) they just extended the character beyond the 1700s.

There are a few spots where introspection or side plots made me feel like the story was dragging too much but overall it was an excellent series and I'm looking forward to season 2.  I just wish there had been more Jenna Coleman in there though.

Ive watched about two episodes so far, and it's OK. Theyve made major changes from the comic book, but that's understandable. Showrunners have elevated the Corinthian into a major baddie, but he seems to have been dumbed down, and lacks the menace of the CB version. Overall, the whole show is a way tamer than the sometimes gruesome depictions in the source material.

The Corinthian isn't as involved with stuff in the first few episodes.  He becomes more important and much more menacing in the second half of the season.

Vaguely recall reading the comics when I was a wee lad, and from what vague muddy memories I retain it seemed pretty comic-accurate to me. Very 90s broody emo goth aesthetic, but maybe that's had something of a revival recently, or so Reddit memes assure me. It's very, very Gaiman, or Gaiman before he was Gaiman I suppose, proto-Gaiman, so if you know Gaiman or have seen American Gods or Good Omens, this is more of the same.

I liked the kind of standalone episodes with Death and in the diner more than the main plot episodes to be honest, the Death ep is simply lovely and played with touching sweetness by the actor who plays Death, and the diner ep is interestingly structured in the way the tension flows in and out, always higher and higher. Oh, Boyd Holbrook as the Corinthian was another standout, just the right tone of friendly menace (and The Heavy "Big Bad Wolf" musical cue had me howling). Rose Walker, on the other hand, was rather flat and awful, which kind of mars the second arc in the series. Still, would be interested to watch again if they adapt some of the other arcs from the comics.

Netflix added a bonus episode - "When Thousand Cats Dream / Calliope". 64 minutes long made up of two short stories.

Well, we finally finished it, and my opinion still hasnt changed. A tame adaptation that is good in some scenes, but lacks the eerie thrills of the source material. Dr. Destiny's gruesome visage in the comics is missing, and even the nightmares are suddenly good-hearted, even though they were created to be evil. It's also pretty slow at times, and every single character has some sort of soliloquy that's supposed to mean something profound, but it comes off as pretentious.

Overall I really enjoyed it. For those saying that the comic was more gruesome, I found some episodes right on the edge of too disturbing to be entertaining, so if they'd gone further they would have lost me. As it was, the 24/7 episode was really difficult for me to watch and I ended up muting it a couple of times.

My favourite episode was The Sound of her Wings, I loved Death and Hob Gadling, and I needed a brighter episode after what had gone before.

Other standout moments for me were Joanna Constantine, the battle with Lucifer in ep.4, Stephen Fry as Fiddler's Green, and how creepy Desire was.

In terms of characterisations, the only one I really didn't like was Despair

Gaiman (Who I guess is also an EP on the show) seems to be worried that the show is so expensive to make that even it’s massive popularity won’t bring it back for a second season. That would be unfortunate and add to the list of shows I really liked falling by the wayside. Also Netflix and streaming in general seem to be on a down slide.
