Watching the 2010 Riverworld miniseries on DVD that I picked up from the Dollar Tree this past weekend.

I need to find the original novels.

Tried The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf on Netflix.

Meh, feels like their Castlevania adaptation but without interesting characters or a coherent plot.

Yeah, I was less than blown away by it. The overall plot is very Witcher in that everybody is a bit shady and it's more a question of who is less bad than the other, but it seems to assume a higher level of familiarity with the world than I possess or else it just sucked at explaining who everybody was.

It also sucked at giving me a reason to keep watching it.  So I quit after thirty minutes.

I liked those planes in that film, and hated that they killed off the coolest pilot of that trio (Jamie foxx), leaving the two (IMO) Bland ones...

As far as Movies go,   Recently I finally got around to watching Peppermint & Angel has Fallen.

And then yesterday I finally started watching LA's Finest for a series.

Peppermint, was actually good..  Angle has fallen, was one of the poorest in the 'fallen' trilogy to me..

I liked the first one, if for nothing else that seeing a Spector fly over DC, I love me some Spector.
The other 2 were,  meh,  not "bad" per se,  just nothing really special,  an action fill with a side of political plot, but, nothing I'm going to want to watch again.

For those interested, this weekend several theaters will be playing the 35th Anniversary of the original Transformers movie.  A second showing is planned for 7 pm on Tuesday next week.

For those that don't remember it, here is the opening

Saw it in theatres when I was 8. I'd love to go and see it again, but I'm not yet comfortable going back to theatres.

Wanted to do this. Unfortunately, my parents wanted to see Top Gun. Which stayed in the theaters for 6 months.

I don’t think Transformers the Movie stayed in the theaters 6 weeks in my home town.

I’m still irritated about that one, even decades later.

Given that Transformer was a theatrical flop, I'd be surprised if it was anywhere close to six weeks.

I took my cousin when he was that age, half for him,  half for nostalgia for me from grade school.

The Transformers movie was pretty bad, and most of your favorite Characters on both sides were basically killed off on screen and plus Optmis Prime being killed off was very tough for a 7 year old me.
Also during that time 1986 was a very full movie year with some of the greatest movies out. Top Gun, Aliens, and so many more.

Same, and I collected the comics from both Brittain and the US, which followed two different timelines. One, the US Marvel IIRC, essentially behaved as if the movie didn't exist, and Brittain followed the movie along. Things got confusing when the US Marvel ran a bunch of stories from the Brittain comic though, but on the whole it was great fun to read.

I ended up seeing the movie a couple of years later, knowing that Prime dies removed the shock factor for me. On the whole I enjoyed it, and I could never understand the hate I saw it receive. But hey, each to their own I guess.

Yup.  Both of which were in a different continuity than the cartoon and movie, but as the comic was still largely a vehicle to sell toys until its last year, the characters were primarily the same.
