Personally, I like the quad AC/2 version I threw together, but the LRM-15 canon version isn't bad either.

Gonna disagree there. It's hard to, for their eras, top the MAD-5S or the MAD-11D
Should have specified "during the Succession Wars", since the MAD-3L was mentioned.

True but a station does offer endurance that can't be matched by a jumpship. We also don't know how often the Great House fleets look for oort cloud objects or if they bother with long range astronomy in general
