Fan Fiction / Re: Fate Can be Cruel (Part Three)

If I remember my Heir to the Dragon correctly, these DCMS units refused the Theodore reforms, and fought using the old Kurita doctrine, being smashed by Theodore, OTL, in the Ronin Wars.
I don't think that the TH units get too much trouble dealing with them.

No Combine unit in canon nor this AU "joined" the FRR. IIRC, the Tyr Regiment (former Lyran/Merc) joined the FRR.

Full TOE, these are Hegemony equipped so for Star League equipped, they do use the Nighthawk suits in place of the normal Ferret Power Armor (light BA).

None, really? I don't have the original FASA House Kurita handbook from the 80's to go by, only the Ebook follow up to FM:SLDF for the Draconis Combine and it's been awhile since I last read it. So I used to think there was at least one or two Rasalhague Regulars units that were of Questionable loyalty and therefore sympathetic to Rasalhague independence, especially since if remember correctly District Regulars are mostly recruited from within said District while the senior officers are from more....reliable regions. My mistake.

Thanks for the TO&E refresher.

I... don't think it's actually tied to a server anywhere. I think all of it's data is within the app itself.

I'd much prefer the data to be in the app than online, id the app only works with a live data connection then it's much less useful to me.

General BattleTech Discussion / Re: Tinfoil Battletech!

I was reading up how super-Earths seem to be the most common extra-solar world discovered and I was thinking about this thread and FASA's assertion that the majority of worlds were Earth-like.  This is leading me to believe that the majority of Battletech-worlds are not Earth-like, but, Earthish, kind of.  If you considered twice as much gravity and either extreme-heat or extreme-cold Earth-like, yeah.

If you use Facebook, I'd recommend getting on the trade and sell page for Battletech and sell off any extras that you don't intend to use. Mechs like the Crossbow and Huntsman should go fairly quickly. I don't see those mechs offered much so people would likely grab them as fast as they can.

I used to collapse jump-points all the time in Babylon 5 RPG games, but they used Full-Thrust rules.

I have Jumpships and Dropships, but I haven't really read or used that book thoroughly.

I suppose you could create a singularity and fire it towards the jump-point, creating gravity instability, preventing the jumpship from jumping. Treat it like an Arrow IV missile or Barracuda Anti-Ship Missile. If you actually hit the ship with the singularity, it would simply pass right through it, causing minimal-damage. If the singularity were to enter hyperspace with the ship, it might follow it to its destination, preventing the ship from leaving hyperspace.

Alternatively, you can collapse a jump-point by destroying the ship and or it's K-F drive.

Nah, it's pure mud.  The anchor comes up in the morning with globs of it.

Not a lot of farms in Alabama.  Lots of trees, though.

I wish I could purchase the new plastic mechs individually but I understand why I can’t. Like I’d want just a Cauldron Born and Kingfisher but I don’t need another Crossbow and Huntsman (which I’ll never use).

As far as painting goes…. I’ve been working up the desire to assemble and paint my minis for the past three years now lol. I MIGHT finally have all the materials….. maybe.

Ha!

Like... what does that even mean?

I have mechs from when I initially got into the game that are still unpainted.

The models included as Alpha Strike Cards are:
Annihilator-2A/Annihilator-5W
Timber Wolf Prime/Timber Wolf T
Archer-2W/Archer C2
Rifleman-3N/Rifleman C3
Blackjack-2/Blackjack C

So it looks like one side are Clan Invasion era-ish variants commonly used by the Wolf's Dragoons and the other side are ilClan era variants presumably used by the Dragoons. The ilClan variants include 3 that have not been seen before: the ANH-5W, Blackjack C, and Archer C2. Presumably, like other ilClan variants they are WYSIWYG variants of the ANH-2A, BJ-2, and ARC-2W updated to ilClan standards.

The description that Death From Above gave of the Blackjack C's card made it sound like it's actually the BJ-2OC Blackjack omnimech.
