Alpha Strike / Re: Need a quick help - 200pts force

vehicles are generally better in AS than in BT, since they are more survivable and use pretty much the same rules aside from motive systems.
I look forward to seeing how the Wardens go about figuring out how they can go do their thing of defending humanity while also dealing with the Wolverines, who have actually been doing the thing they said they're ready to do for years.

This got covered in one of the Ngo-adjacent stories that when along with this one.
Alright guys, time for another ASF for the AU.

In 2510, the United Coreward Federation's military put out a procurement request. After nearly a century of the Great Coreward War, the Federation was looking for new weapons systems to both replenish their military for the final pushes and to modernize it for the new era of warfare of the post-primitive technology war.

One area in particular that received particular attention and that was the Federation's Fighter fleet. With a ground doctrine that was a direct descendant of Airland Battle and a Space Force heavily reliant on their Carrier WarShips, modern ASFs were seen as critical for the Federation's war effort.

The primary design request was for a 50-65 Ton fighter designed to be a very high performance multi-role strike fighter. Specifically the Federation is looking for a craft capable of acceleration at 3.5Gs or greater (7/11 or more) with the hope of allowing the fighter to both safely carry large payloads into combat while maintaining acceptable speed and maneuverability. This had a welcome and semi-intended side effect of making the fighter a deadly effective turn-fighter.

Many designs were submitted and while some would also enter service, one primary fighter would be selected for the program and was designated the F-45 War Hawk, enter service in 2517, and go on to be one of the longest lived fighter designs in history. As of the (in universe) current year of 3010, the F-45 is still in service as the Federation's main-line Aerospace Fighter and regularly proves significantly newer designs such as the Corsair and Lucifer that old doesn't mean obsolete.

The F-45A was the original production model that flew during the Great Coreward War in its final few years but would truly cut its teeth during the Reunification War when the Federation Expeditionary Force brought it with them into the Outworlds Alliance and Taurian Concordat. The F-45C was an advanced variant created with advanced Star League Technology in 2731 which was exported in small numbers to the SLDF in exchange for the advanced technology to maintain its production. The A would be resurrected as a design following the beginning of the Succession Wars.

Notable Pilots

Captain Peter Murley: Famous Federation Ace of the Great Coreward War, Murley flew throughout the last decade of the War across multiple different craft and exacted a toll of nearly 150 kills throughout his career. Given one of the very first production F-45As, Captain Murley's success rate only climbed. However, his War Hawk would help him go out in a blaze of glory when he conducted a solo interception of a Peace Maker intending to destroy the Federation First BattleMech Division. While stopping the missile, he was killed in the ensuing high altitude nuclear explosion and was post-humanously awarded the Federation Medal of Honor and his second Distinguished Flying Cross.

Lt. Seung Yongsun: Formerly an aviator with the Federation Aerospace Force, Lt. Seung deserted his post with his fighter during the Amaris Civil War and joined the SLDF with his fighter. This was one of the very few instances of F-45s flying with foreign governments. Yongsun would become a decorated aviator with the 4th Volunteer Fighter Regiment and would fly in many of the great battles of the Civil War before leaving on the Exodus.

Gen. Mariana Azedevo: Current Chief of Aerospace Operations of the Federation Aerospace Force, General Azedevo cut her teeth on an F-45 in the middle years of the Third Succession War. Despite her advanced age, she has maintained her infamous fighter qualifications even in her staff position and has one of the few remaining F-45Cs as her personal craft.

(Just doing some experimentation with a more TRO like layout for my Design Challenges).
Now let us see Clanners embracing the mercenary life.  First the Falcons hire them, now the Sea Foxes support them, next I want to see Wolfs become them.  I am not talking about former Republic forces, I want Trueborns with a bloodname going merc.

Ground Combat / Re: Artillery Rules For Dummies
« Last post by Charistoph on Today at 15:30:44 »
Alright, so I'm figuring it out. The spotter adjustment is confusing me... If the artillery piece and the spotter have the same gunnery, there's no adjustment, correct?

There is no direct relationship between the Artillery Gunnery and the Spotter Gunnery as far as I can read.  The Artillery Modifiers table is only concerned with the Spotter's Gunnery in relationship to Regular and if it can be there to help adjust fire.  The Spotter can also make things worse (for the Artillery) by firing as well.
