Perilous is a good word for it.  Both parties seem to suffer some sort of head trauma...

Well, it is an unpleasant situation since there seems to be a divorce (with custody battle) involved.  Kane of course dismissed the allegations as false and has said he will cooperate with the league's investigation, so he's not being overtly evasive.

FYI, Aaron Ward, who is now a daily contributor to TSN 690 in Montreal, has weighed in with his own insights, having had a gambling problem himself while he was playing (though he never bet on hockey, or so he claims):

Another day closer...  :excited:
Hah!  I feel the same way.  Once I purchase I'm going to print out the 20 pages or so that deal with what is going on around the sphere and periphery so I can have my update fix at home this weekend.

I just do not buy or salvage those weapons.  But I have also been keeping most my pilots at what I feel would be 'regular' or 'veteran' status as far as gunnery- with the exception of the PC, he is 'elite' . . . but not maxed out.

I think Maybe I should just replay without special weapons at all.  It'll increase the difficulty without tempting me to indulge in cheese.  I like the Cockpit mods, Communications and Targeting systems to create specialist mechs--but I'm going to have to skip out on all the +++ craziness.  It is just too much by the time you get to heavies (I've got a Rifleman and Marauder now with +++ weapons and they just auto-delete mechs when focus fired).

Any info on when/if Price of Duty is coming out in print? Looks like something I want to read.

General BattleTech Discussion / Re: Game Balance Question

Prime still has a higher BV, and BV calculations take into account all weapons so you cannot leave the flamer out on the C.  The C STILL has two headcappers which you pay for in BV, which is ALSO where that 500-600 more BV still factors into account.

I also used the H, not the D.  Warhawk is also a bit of a outlier b/c of how similar 3 or 4 of it's configurations are in just exchanging a few weapons- which is why it is easiest to compare Headcapper/Overheat/Alpha.  If you overheat without the headcappers the BV works out better IMO.

The question of Alpha vs Bracket Fire machines comes down to preference, but the question is really a preference for sustained vs burst damage.  Against another Clan player the sustained fire might be best . . . against a IS player, I think Burst damage might be a better choice.

Scenario for Thursday.

Cat and Mouse
SITUATION
Drake Woods, Old Mesa Commons
Luzerne, Smoke Jaguar Occupation Zone
6 July 3059
With several of their supply transports shot down and others scattered across the planet, many of the separated SLDF groups found themselves running low on  supplies right after landing. Not willing to just lay down and die for the Smoke Jaguars, they took it upon themselves to obtain supplies any way they could—even if it
meant ripping them from the defending Clan.
